Top 10 Premier League Players of 2010/11 so far – Part 3
5. Luis Nani - (Manchester United)
Nani has finally come out of Cristiano Ronaldo’s shadow, thus fulfilling his true potential. This season, the Red Devils winger has come to life becoming the fulcrum in their attack and making life difficult for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Obertan-c14324 and Ji Sung Park who now repeatedly
find themselves warming the bench. Nani has not let Sir Alex or the United fans miss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345 who had his leg broken at the start of the season.
Earlier, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 had been heavily criticised over the past few seasons for not being able to find the final ball to compliment his hard work, but this season’s stats show a completely different story. His 11 assists along with 6 goals in the Premier League
so far, show his ability to unlock even the tightest of defences.
4. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 - (Arsenal)
Quick feet and ability to pick a pass even in the tightest of defences is what we have come to expect from the player who was left out of the French squad for the World Cup. The Arsenal captain suffered an injury at the beginning of the season and all the
pundits had written off the North London team from the title race, but the Frenchman stepped into the Spaniard's shoes and took hold of the talented Arsenal midfield and has since kept them within touching distance of the league leaders. Even with the captain
back in the ranks, Nasri showed no signs of slowing down, playing a couple of one twos with the maestro to find the back of the net against Birmingham over the weekend.
With 9 goals and an assist in the Premier League season so far, Nasri has been right up there with the best in the business. His goal scoring ability has given the highly rated Arsenal side a new dimension and a lot of respect from the big clubs in Europe.
3. Rafael van der Vaart - (Tottenham Hotspur)
Signing of the season by a country mile, Rafael van der Vaart has set the Premier League alight with his genuinely top class performances for Spurs, week in and week out.
The Dutchman has been a revelation since his move from Real Madrid to Tottenham Hotspur. His link up play with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
His form has forced manager Harry Redknapp to change his formation and play a lone striker up front with van der Vaart playing in the hole behind him. He has relished in that role and in his 13 starts this season, the classy midfielder has found the back
of the net 8 times and has been the provider on 6 occasions.
After six months in the Premier League, the Dutchman looks a bargain at £8m and when one considers the fact that he is still adjusting to life in London, only bigger and better things can be expected from him for the rest of the season.
