As we all know that the tennis season is ending. But according to Caroline Wozniacki, Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters, there is still much to play.
The top tennis women around the world are as follows, starting with the world No.1 American tennis player, who was absent in the U.S. Open 2010.
Serena Williams: As for many players, this time of the year is not important and the same goes for Serena Williams because all the majors are over now. Unfortunately, foot surgery kept her away from the U.S. Open, but she is struggling hard
to find form again. As we all know the year is about to end and there is lot of homework to do for the upcoming year.
The world No. 1 has a unique style of playing, for which she is often noted for. Basically she is a baseline player. Her marvellous, powerful and consistent serves are considered to be the best in the women‘s game. She has full control of her forehand and
backhand and has the second fastest serve among all female players.
In simple words, Serena Williams deserves to be the world No. 1 player and her top ranking is justified.
Caroline Wozniacki: 2010 was going well for Caroline Wozniacki until she lost the U.S. Open, where she was the top seed. She made it to the semi-finals professionally before losing a tough match against Vera Zvonareva. Fortunately she is
still the world No. 2 player and she is an excellent tennis player.
The Danish player is chasing the coveted No. 1 ranking now. Caroline is one of the best defensive counter-puncher in the women’s game and has won many points by forcing her competitor to make errors so she could run down the balls. She is considered to be
one of the most active players throughout the game, she has a unique sense of observing each and every single shot played by the other player.
Day by day Wozniacki is improving her game and becoming more and more aggressive in controlling and winning points. Her strong point is that, she could play well on all kinds of surfaces.
Venus Williams: Venus Williams had a tough time in New York, when she lost the ugly semi-final to Kim Clijsters. Unfortunately, this American lost a golden chance to win her first major outside grass in nine years but still there is much
to play for, for this elder William.
Venus Williams’s rivalry with her sister Serena Williams is very popular. They both have played 23 times, making 10-13 records in the series. These are the only women till now, who have played against each other in eight Grand Slams finals.
Vera Zvonareva: It has been an awesome year for Vera Zvonareva, as she reached two Grand Slam finals. Unfortunately, like her compatriot Elena Dementieva in 2004, she lost both finals. But regardless of winning the match or losing the match,
she did a fantastic job and won the hearts of many people throughout the world.
This Russian needs to work a little more on her game and especially on her emotions, as she had some bad conversations with her coach and chair-empire during the U.S. Open.
This Olympics bronze medalist is a baseliner with extraordinary offensive capabilities. She has good speed and is often noted for her fitness, which is a gives her excellent lateral movements.
Kim Clijsters: This Belgian professional tennis player is ranked world No. 5. She is also known as the “comeback queen” of the tennis world. Kim Clijsters performances were consistent throughout the year and therefore, she deserved to be
at No. 5.
