10 things to expect from the Milan Derby
Two of the Europe’s biggest clubs go head to head yet again, in what is one of world footballs’ biggest derbies. Inter Milan and AC Milan are two of the top clubs in Europe and their rivalry is second to none.
There is no consensus about the biggest rivalry in the world of football. Spaniards argue that there is nothing bigger and better than ‘El Clasico’, between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
In England, there are quite a few rivalries but the most ferocious is probably between Liverpool and Manchester United. However, if it was to be decided on pure derby rivalry, then there is only one winner; the Milan derby.
Inter and AC Milan share the same stadium and have always been title contenders for the Scudetto. This season is no different either, with AC Milan top of the table going into the match.
Bettor.com has decided to give you an insight on what to expect from this weekend’s Milan derby. Here are the top 10 things we expect.
1) Massimo Moratti and Adriano Galliani shake each other’s hand at the start of the match. Initial reports suggest that the relationship between the two is now starting to improve. However, it is revealed after the match that Moratti told Galliani that the winner gets Kaka’.
2) Silvio Berlusconi is present at the match and brings along his new 19-year-old model girl friend. After the match he hosts a party at his house even though Milan lost the game. Ronaldinho and Robinho happily attend the party.
3) Maicon miraculously recovers from injury and scores a wonder goal before going mad during his celebration. He injures himself again and remains sidelined for another month.
4) Seeing his team play better in the second half Rafa decides to scrap the notes and instead concentrates on writing a few more quotes to use in the next press conference that will impress the Italian press. Unfortunately his quotes are again only understood by him and he overshadows a derby win by proudly embarrassing himself.
5) Wesley Sneijder steals all the notes made by Rafael Benitez at half time and Rafa spends the second half rewriting them. As a result Inter play much better in the second half.
6) Kevin Prince Boateng and Diego Milito are caught planning against Samuel Eto’o. The Argentine was willing to pay big money to the Ghanaian to injure the Cameroonian. However, Eto’o stays on the pitch and scores the winner.
7) Former Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic decides to take throw-ins from the centre circle after he was spit upon by fans and a pig head is aimed at him earlier. Video replays show a certain Luis Figo as the real culprit.
8) Inter’s fitness icon, Walter Samuel keeps a close eye on Filippo Inzaghi in hospital, so that Pippo won't suddenly pop up in the penalty area with the winner.
9) Luca Antonini and Christian Chivu fight over the right to buy the last piece of Paolo Maldini’s book “how to play at left back”. Chivu accuses Antonini that he can’t read the game on the pitch so there is little hope for him off it as well. However, Antonini responds by suggesting that Chivu will lose the book in exactly the same manner as he loses his man during a match. When Paolo Maldini comes to know about this, he buys the book for one of his young Maldini’s.
10) Rafael Benitez and Massimiliano Allegri’s pre match conferences are so interesting that it reminds everyone about the recent Manchester derby. Then when everything is running smoothly Rafael Benitez has a go at former Club’s current situation and slams Roy Hodgson.
