Andrew Balding does not win big races regularly, but non-graded victories come to him very frequently. With 83 triumphs, 88 seconds, 71 thirds and 59 fourths, the veteran handler has grabbed 1,295,742 pounds of prize money so far in the 2012 GB season.
He is certainly one of the most consistent trainers around. There are many big names in his camp, such as Tullius, Bonfire and Stirring Ballad. He is yet to register first big win of the season, but it is unlikely to remain so in the coming months.
Kevin Ryan is also doing some damage this season. Whenever someone will talk about the most exciting contest of the season, Hototo’s neck-distance win over Well Acquainted is going to be a part of the discussion.
In the hands of Phillip Makin, the 10-1 chance raised many eyebrows by beating a few big guns in the DBS Premier Yearling Stakes at York in August.
Kevin Ryan has made 694 runs so far, winning 84 of them. He was runner-up on 69 occasions, and seized the third place 68 times. As a result, he has bagged 1,171,154 pounds so far in the ongoing season.
Another fine trainer who deserves a place among top 10 is Mahmood Al Zarooni. With the help of 57 wins so far, the Newmarket handler has secured 1,153,415 pounds. He has won a few big events this season.

Monterosso’s victory in the Dubai World Cup was the biggest win of Mahmood Al Zarooni’s career. He did not rest on laurels, and guided Encke and Certify to the glory last month.
Despite a few mega wins, Mahmood Al Zarooni is at the 10th place, because his total victories are lesser than others. He is unlikely to challenge John Gosden and Aidan O’Brien, but can make some improvement.
There is still a lot of action left in the ongoing season. So, these top 10 trainers need to maintain the standards in order to stay in the list.
