THE FASTEST RECORDED TIME  OVER 40 METRES IN NZ WAS 4.53 SECS BY SOSENI ANESI THEN 4.66 BY JOE ROKOCOKO

tonderai chavanga dis 100m in 10.16 at U17 level and had choice between athletics and rugby career. he does 100m now at about 10.1-10.2 seconds. habana does it in 10.4

also joe rockocoko and PERCY MONTGOMERY we quick over 100m. both 10.5

Bryan habana surely...the guy is freaky quike.he raced a cheetah once and he can do 100m in 10.2secs.i think Habana is by far the quikest player in the world.

Very few rugby players get actually timed under conditions that is repeatable so that you could compare one to the other.  Van den Heever holds a junior national record in one of the sprint hurdles.  I do not think to many other provincial / club / national team players can boast with an athletic record.

Naas Botha, funny enough, was a provincial 200m  athlete.  And before that Jaco Reinach was 'n Springbok 400m and national record holder.

Van den Heever is quick. Only one I could find that held any "sprint" record.  A 13.8 over 110 "low hurdles" as under 18 schoolboy.

fastest in super14 2010 is between nokwe,masaga, aplon, chavhanga, mentz and vainikolo..i left vandenHeever out coz vainikolo caught up to him when he scored that 70M try..
