Top 25 Possible January Transfer Targets (Part 2)
Sulley Muntari (Inter Milan):
The powerful Ghanaian is finding opportunities hard to come by under Rafael Benitez and San Siro. This left-footed midfielder would want to leave Inter Milan for a club where he might get more game time. Muntari already has Premier League experience after
having played under Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth F.C and the now-Tottenham manager would like to have an extra option in the midfield but game time is still not assured.
Everton seem to be interested in the player and David Moyes would want to bring him on loan where he can be almost guaranteed game time. The option of a loan would also suit Sulley Muntari as he would then have a chance to prove his worth to Rafael Benitez
in a bid to regain starting berth at Inter.
Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur):
Although, only 21 years old, Gareth Bale has been in the Premier League for two years. He took some time in settling down at White Hart Lane while this year, he has proved to be a revelation for Harry Redknapp's side.
His performances have alerted many clubs in Europe and he is rumoured to be under Manchester United’s radar. He has scored 6 goals so far this season and his hat trick at San Siro against Inter Milan proved his strong mentality. Manchester United might want
to get Bale as Ryan Giggs is reaching the end of his career.
Ibrahim Afellay (PSV Eindhoven):
The 22 year old is one of the hottest Dutch prospects around and has a host of clubs waiting to get their hands on the tricky right winger. Afellay has already rejected a new contract offer with PSV and looks set to move to’ pastures new’.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Athletico Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia all seem much interested in the Dutchman who hails from Morocco originally and can be a real asset for any team he signs for whether in the next transfer window or after his contract
expires (end of this season).
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich):
The German international is a diverse midfielder and can perform many roles in the midfield. This quality has made him indispensable for Bayern Munich as well as Germany and it is no surprise that many teams are monitoring him. Schweinsteiger’s contract
runs until June 2012 and Bayern really want him to sign a new contract.
But, Schweinsteiger might want to move to a new destination after having been at Bayern for a long time now. Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United are rumored to be interested while Real Madrid would also want to add a 3rd German to their
squad.
Dani Alves (Barcelona):
The Brazilian arrived at Nou Camp in 2008 but looks set to move to a new destination as his wage demands are currently unable to match Barcelona’s liking. His contract runs until 2012 and Barcelona want to extend it to at least 2015.
But, Alves wants to try his luck in the Premier League after having achieved almost everything in Spain. Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea might suit the Brazilian’s ambitions. His ability to become an extra attacking player when needed and
scoring an odd goal is one of the main reasons for his success at Barcelona.
Diego Forlan (Atletico Madrid):
The 31 year old Uruguayan has been in top form for the last 3 seasons and just had a successful World Cup where he won the Golden Ball for being the best player of the tournament. His performances alerted many managers across Europe but the ex-Manchester
United striker still decided to stay at Atletico.
Forlan has himself said that he enjoyed his stay in England and would want to return if an opportunity arrives. Liverpool might be interested in him if Torres decides to leave. It would add much needed firepower to their squad.
