Top 40 players in Official World Golf Rankings

17 – Adam Scott
An Australian with flair style and a winning knack for big tournaments, the 31-year-old Adam Scott is a professional Golfer and a part time model. He enrolled in the Southport School, Koorablyn International School. After he completed his high school education,
he went on to attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas, although only briefly.
Adam Scott’s professional career started in 2001 and in the same year he won the European Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Championship. In 2004, he won more PGA tours and also the Players Championship and the Booz Allen Classic. Adam also reached the Top 10 of the
Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) for the first time after winning the Nissan Open.
Adam Scott is also considered to be a natural successor to his fellow countryman and a golfing great, Greg Norman. Scott hired Greg Norman’s caddy in 2004, which shows that he not only wants to emulate the success of his fellow countryman but also wants
to fill his shoes. He has not fared badly in that attempt either, a proof of which is him spending over 180 weeks in the Top 10 in the OWGR.
Scott won the Tour Championship and finished third on the PGA Tour Money List. Although Scott now focuses mainly on the PGA tours, he still continues to play all over the Globe. The golfer played enough European Tours to qualify to play for the Order of
Merit for the first time in 2005.
Adam Scott also paired-up with Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods in the 2008 US Open. Woods went on to win the Tournament, while Mickelson and Scott finished 18th and 26th respectively. Scott's form dipped in 2009 when he dropped out of
the Top 50 in the OWGR and the Top 100 of the PGA Tour money list. He didn’t have much to show for a couple of years but still managed to win his seventh career PGA Tour title at the Valero Texas Open.
Scott has also been the ladies’ choice, and has maintained and accentuated his image though a portfolio of high end endorsement deals with brands such as Burberry. This led him to be named in the Esquire’s best dressed list.
In the year 2011 Scott performed his best at a major championship, when he finished in a tie for second place at the 2011 Masters Tournament, and was only 2 strokes behind Charl Schwartzel. At one point, while playing the 71st hole, Scott was
in the lead of the tournament, but Schwartzel pulled in four birdies in a row, which saw Scott miss out on the title narrowly. Scott remained positive however, and mentioned that he took only the positives out of the tournament and that he felt that he had
never played better with a long putter.
Scott has proven time and time again his ability to conquer fields, and with his recent partnership with Tiger Woods’ former caddie Steve Williams, the player looks even more confident. The most striking proof of the duo’s instant success was Scott’s win
at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, where apart from his exquisite putting and drives, it was Williams’ advice on a number of occasions that led to his victory.
The sun seems to be shining on the Aussie just at the right time in his career and if he manages to hold his own, he could very well bring the glory back to Australia.
