  11. Tough one marketed or marketable.  The latter could imply value which probably puts Toronto number 1.  Southern ONT hast more people than Quebec.  CBC has force fed the leafs to everyone else for so long.

But if we use marketable to mean sellable to the world.

    1) Montreal  the history, the championships, the rebirth of the team and a d**n good owner.

    2)  Detroit- consistently good - original six - almost sells itself.

    3) Toronto but only because of the southern Ontario market.  The current product and recent history would not sell much anywhere but southern Ont.

    4) Flyers- there are usually more Flyers fans here than any other- it means they are doing something right.  The Flyers Brand (tough guys) sells.  Let's face it they have attracted fans all over based on that history.

    5) NYR the rangers are up there as an institution- just lacking the on ice product.

Close- Pens and Caps because of some of their current assets- Crosby and Ovechkin.  These assets will move on the 5 teams above have an identity not so dependent on who is currently on the team.  Most teams have not been around long enough to develop that Identity.  The Flyers knocked off the Bruins and Hawks on my list as those two have been run into the ground by greedy owners.

As to Dinner? Mtl is a long drive.  Bring whatever you want I'll provide the wine, and green Gatorade if needed.

  12. This question also depends on what region you are in. Where I am (Toronto) The Leafs,Sens,Habs,Pens, and Caps are heavily marketed. The first 3 because of the rivalry factor and the other 2 because of the young superstars.

I also used to live in the Washington DC area and there the heavy marketing was focused on The Caps,Carolina,New York Rangers,Pittsburgh, Islanders (to a certain extent) and Tampa Bay. So it varies I think.

Dinner is meatloaf and homemade garlic-basil mashed potatoes. (which reminds me I have to get running before the wife gets home, ciao)

  13. Where I live...

    1. Detroit (being from Michigan go figure)

    2. Toronto (my close proximity to Canada)

    3. Pittsburgh (funny, when I was growing up, Pitt was just another team, now they're being heavily marketed, I wonder why?)

    Nationally/US...(my guess in no order)

    1. NYR

    2. Detroit

    3. Pittsburgh

    4. Caps

    5. Chicago (soon)

Canada...(again, my guess in no order)

    1. Toronto

    2. Montreal

    3. Ottawa

    4. Pitt

    5. Washington

    Bonus...Dinner WAS brats.

  14. 1) Montreal Canadiens

    2) Toronto Maple Leafs

    3) Detroit Red Wings

    4) Pittsburgh Penguins

    5) New York Rangers

    notes:

Montreal and Toronto are in dead heat for most markebility but because of Montreal's playoff apperance and Toronto's failure to make the play-offs in 3 years puts Montreal ahead

also Pittsburgh is just on the list because of Crosby! when crosby retires or if he is traded Pittsburgh will fall off the top 5

bonus - whatever I can find in the fridge.

  15. Philly

    Detroit

    Pittsburgh

    San Jose

    N.Y Rangers

Montreal is not on this list because they don't need to be marketed

For the Wife and Kids.....fried Chicken

Me .....some nice and tasty Venicen chops

  16. I cant believe nobody has mentioned Buffalo did they forget that in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals this year that they had the third most tv ratings and they were not even in the playoffs they were third just behind Detroit and Pittsburgh, so I would have to add Buffalo to that list in the top 5 even though it is considered a small market team

also i really wouldnt consider the Bruins because i read somewhere that there was a poll done in Boston and the Bruins were ranked 5th in favorite teams behind the Patriots,Red Sox Celtics, and their MLS team whoever that is then the Bruins i read it and thought an original 6 team is behind a soccer team
