What would you recommend as the most breath taking sights to see in switzerland? Although I do plan on seeing the old cities and fairy-tale castles, i LOVE countryside and small villages in huge mountains :)

  2. 1. The most breath taking view in Switzerland you can see when you take the train from Bern to Lausanne when you come out of a long tunnel (after Fribourg before arriving in Lausanne), on the left side.

    2. The view from the Jungfraujoch to the Aletsch Glacier

    3. Take a train from Chur to St. Moritz and see Engadin (this trip is quite famous)

    4. Old City? Go to Murten

    5. Go to Locarno..

  3. Don't forget the charming village Gruyère with it's castle, Gyger Museum("star wars") and beautyful countryside with breath-taking mountain views! Also the famous cheese comes fm this region.

  4. 1. The view from Les Dents de Midi, Susanfe I think it's called--a long and somewhat horrible walk up but, astonishingly, worth it.

    2. The view of the sun rising on the Matterhorn from a hotel room in Zermatt.

    3. The view from the top of the mountain above Klosters, towards Davos.

    4. The view OF Les Dents de Midi from my husband's aunt Marie-Claire's place in Trois-Torrents on a cloudless summer morning.

    5. The view of Lucerne, Pilatus and Titlis from across the bridge from the Lucerne train station.

  5. OMG I WENT THERE!!!

Go to the swiss alps, Lausanne!!!

Go to Chateau de Chillon, it is really fascinating!

As a side, go to the Cailler factory. there is a room where you can have asmany chocolate samples as you want!!!

  6. Old Cities:

    Bern (Zytgloggeturm=Belltower & Ziibelemärit=Onionmarket),

    Lucerne (Kappelbrücke=Chapel-Bridge)

    Zürich (Niederdorf=Old City & Seaside)

    Basel (Marktplatz=Marketplace & Spalentor=Spalen-Gate)

    Lugano (Piazza Grande=Mainsquare)

    Best Castles (Just google them):

    Castle Chillon

    Castle Rapperswil

    Castle Sargans

    Castle Hallwyl

    Castles of Bellinzona

Countryside and small villages with huge mountains:

    Zermatt (there's the Matterhorn-Mountain) (at least a day-trip)

Rigi, Pilatus, Titlis (Mountains near Lucerne to go up by cablecar) (can be done in half a day)

    Have fun!

    Greetings from Switzerland!

  7. Bern, Lucerne and Basel have nice old cities

Chillon is a great castle to visit, so are the 2 in Thun

spend some time in Thun where you're very close to the alps

I'd also suggest going to the JUngfraujoch. It's very expensive but worth every penny!! If it's foggy or rainy don't go thoogh, because the view is the most important part!
