  1. Suns - Because they have a loaded team! NASH, STAT, SHAQ, BARBOSA, HILL, BELL, BARNES, DIAW, and a whole slew of young stars ready to shine! Over the past four years they've either been screwed out of or barely missed out on grabbing the NBA title, so these guys are HUNGRY!

Hornets - Home of the REAL MVP, Chris Paul. This is one of the few teams in the NBA that actually plays like a team (thanks to the Real MVP). They're also hungry, and no one's going to stop them.

Celtics - I don't think I need to say anything about how great these guys are...

Pistons - The only mistake they've made in the last couple of years was letting go of Flip Saunders, but they'll still rock the house.

Rockets - Not my favorite team, but after watching their amazing winning-streak get them literally nowhere, these guys are ready for another go.

  2. Suns

    Spurs

    Lakers

    Celtics

    Pistons

  3. 1. Celtics

    2. Lakers

    3.Raptors

    4. Hornets

    5. Magic

  4. Celtics

    Lakers

    Hornets

Rockets - Alderman did a great job his first year, Scola and Rafer had good years, If this team can stay healthy, they should be good

    Jazz

  5. 1. Celtics

    2. Spurs

    3. Lakers

    4. Detroit

    5. Hornets

  6. lmao  r u kidding ?

Lakers for 1 place ? lol

    Celtics = 1 or Hornet = 1

  7. Celtics

    Hornets

    Lakers

    Spurs

    Detroit

  8. ya Ur 100% right lakers all the way

  9. 1.Suns- They are a veteran team that is talented and Shaq will get used to the up tempo game. Also we have a talented bench with lopez, barbosa, barnes, and improvim players like strawbery and tucker

2.Lakers- They have a young team who shows improvement every year. they will have bynum back which is good for laker fans like you. they lost to boston but played great...  SORRY LAKERS

3.Boston-the champs who have a good team but lost Posey but still have most of their players which is good.

4-Hornets- they are my second favoratie who have talented PG chris paul and Tyson chandler who will take the hornets to the playoffs every year

5- Pilidelphia- They are a big time underdog but they have a young and talented roster. They got Elton brand and hopefully iguadala (hope i spelled it right) will stay to help them out

  10. 1.Celtics -Big Three

2.Lakers -the best player in the NBA today, Kobe

    3.Rockets- T-Mac n Yao

4.Hornets - Chris Paul and Co.

5.Spurs - Tim Duncan, Parker, Ginobili -Dynasty team of the 00's.

  11. 1) celtics - this will be their last year to win a championship before their aging bodies fail them.  the keep their whole core with the exception of james posey, but if their bench continues to improve, they can do it again

    2) lakers - they sorely missed bynum in last years finals, because gasol and odom are both 'soft' players around the basket, afraid of the physical style perkins plays.  then also you have the further improvement of farmar, vujacic, and the returning ariza, and you have a deep bench, that's needed for a deep playoff run

    3) hornets - who can forget the hornets of last year?  they surprised most of us, and they are still a young squad, who after having playoff experience, and with CP3 at the helm will make for a great western conference finals against the lakers

    4) suns - the suns have gone somewhat un-noticed by many, as they haven't changed their roster, besides the addition of matt barnes.  this is not to be underestimated, as it provides another shooter for nash's passing, and he is a decent defender.  once again I look at the bench and see barbosa, hill, diaw, and even their young guys like tucker and lopez will help in their season and playoff run

    5) spurs/philly/utah/magic/pistons

too hard to narrow it down, but i see these 6 (including the suns) teams as pretty much equal in chances of winning.

the spurs have their ever aging roster that comes with countless years of playoff experience, but won't win.

philly have improved alot with the aquisition of elton brand, adding solid scoring and a go-to-guy when scoring is hard to come by.  still wont win though will get to semi's (maybe finals depending on seed)

utah have the same squad they had last year, and with the ever improving deron williams at the helm should make it to the semi's at least

magic have another year of chemistry under their belt, with howard, lewis and turkoglu as their core guys - semis or finals depending on seed

pistons are the team that has set the pace in the east for 5 or 6 years now, but in that time have only made it to the finals twice (03-04, 04-05).  they've been 'upset' by miami and the cavs for playing lacklusterly and the team looks to implode with trade rumors circling

  12. 1 detroit

    2 lakers

    3 hornets

    4 spurs

    5 possibly the trail blazers

celtics are not going to doo good cuz there age there bench is aging and there lineup is ageing it will be lakers and pistons in the finals rivarlys will be renewed

  13. 1) Lakers (if they can acquire another PG and/or shooter, maybe using Walton or Rad as trade, hands down favorite, but with this team, still one of the CHAMP, not playoff, contenders)

    2) Hornets (a bit more depth and they're there)

    3) Detroit (gonna pick someone from the east to come out...and boston probably won't without that supporting cast next year)

    4) Spurs (there every year, their big 3 isn't even as old as the celtics big 3, and where did they go in 07-08?)

    5) Utah (close between them and celts, but i pick them because they were great at home, and they're another year older, so im guessing probably a bit better on the road too)

celts just won't repeat as champs in 09, mainly because of the loss of posey. im not ruling out another finals appearance, but i don't think they have it in them to win again

  14. 1. Lakers - The sole reason being Bynum will be back. That is what I thought was missing throughout the whole series against the Celtics, a strong, bully-like presence in the paint. Someone who will post-up, rebound, and make players think twice about driving in. Gasol just wasn't physical enough to play with Garnet or Perkins. And of course they have the greatest player in the league.

    2. Celtics - They still have the Big 3, and their youngins like Perkins, Rondo, and even Big Baby (even though I hate how cocky he was during the award ceremony, acting like he was a big part of the Celtics success) are going to get better. A clutch player like Posey leaving hurt them a little though.

    3. Hornets - Chris Paul is the best PG in the game, shown by his MVP caliber performance this past season, and he's only 23. It's almost scary him being so talented and so young. If Peja continues his phoenix-like risen-from-the-ashes performance, and Tyson Chandler plays his big man role like he has been, Hornets are still championship contenders.

    4. Jazz - CP3 is the best PG in the league, and he can see Deron if he looks over his shoulder. Another young, very talented player, and in contrast to CP3's agility and ball controll, Deron has speed, but also has the strength to bully and overpower the smaller PGs. He can handle the ball, drive and split, as well as post up and handle mismatches better than most because of his power. Boozer is a force as always, with his rebounding and second chance points. AK47 and Okur are the lesser stars on the team, but integral parts nontheless.

5 Spurs - Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker are still their big 3, but the Spurs are aging. Duncan is 32, Ginobili about to be 31, Bowen is 37, Finley is 35, and Horry is about to be 38. They are still a talented team, but their window is closing, arguably the 08-09 season being their last chance for a run at the Rings with so many younger teams like the Trailblazers and Warriors growing.
