The veteran midfielder had another impressive season with the Nerazzurri and added much needed experience to the side. The 30-year-old was a rock in the central midfield role and protected his back four with authority. Isla has been a phenomenal performer for Francesco Guidolin’s team and was one of their most influential players to guide them to a top four finish. The 22-year-old missed the early part of the campaign through injury and he was badly missed as his team made an awful start to the campaign. The Chilean’s tremendous work rate and energetic runs in the midfield have been a treat to watch this season.
30. Marek Hamsik (Napoli)
It has been one of the low scoring seasons for the Slovakian but he has performed consistently to guide his team to UEFA Champions League after 21 years. The 23-year-old played a huge role in guiding his team to a third place finish and scored 10 goals in 31 appearances for the club. He had to miss a handful of matches due to a calf injury and was missed by his team. The Slovenian international had a wonderful season between the sticks for the Bianconeri. The shot-stopper made some commendable saves from close range throughout the season and earned the tag of the best goalkeeper in the league from several pundits. The 26-year-old’s superb performances have attracted interest from few of the top clubs in Europe and the Italian outfit will be embraced with several bids for his services in the summer transfer window.
