That last question I answered got me thinking. Only the die-hards are still hanging out here. The "What do I wear skiing" types have packed up their stuff and hit the beach this time of year...unless you're a Kiwi, then it's prime snow season. Anyway, if you are a regular contributer to the skiing section, please the post the following info:

A: Years on skis.

B: Usual Discipline(s)

C: Home Mountain & Former Home Mountains

D: Are you/Were you in the industry? What do/did you do.

I'll leave it open for a while too. Give everyone a fair chance to answer. Hope everyone is having a good summer (or winter if you are below the equator.) Ahhhhh.....winter!

Thanks!!

  1. I would have to agree, the skiing section is a bit slow this time of year.  Im guilty of it myself, but I gotta h**l of a lotta golf answers to prove that im still paying attention, lol.  Its getting to that time of year where I really start jonesing for some good snow.  Being 90 degrees and humid as h**l here in KC, some good snow sounds d**n refreshing.

Im happy to see all the famaliar faces in here!  We should all try to get together for a day or two this season.  Anyone planning a Colorado trip anytime?

    Heres my rap sheet...

    A. 27 years on snow, 18 spent skiing and 9 on a extended snowboard hiatus (I still hop on the wide plank every now and then.)

    B. Backcountry, trees, groomers, and anything off-piste.  I avoid Park and Moguls, but I would love to get better...

    C. Fun Valley, Montezuma Iowa.  Sleepy Hollow, Des Moines Iowa.  Winter Park Colorado.

D.Instruction, Sales, Marketing, Guest Services at WP.

  2. OK, here goes:  first hill, Rainbow Ridge, Bracebridge, ON (now a retirement home), current hill, Castle Mtn, AB (see the link).  Started skiing at 5, am now 50, you do the math, I got me no edumacation cause i spent all my time on the hill.  Have worked at almost every job at the hill, currently CSCF II coach.  Primarily a racer, but i love the big mtn freeride and deep powder.  Live in Calgary AB, so i get some glacier skiing in the summer.  Man, i get all gooey just thinking about it!!!
