The acting president of the European Club Association stated that a few top European teams are not following the rules of financial fair play and are under huge debt due to their financial transactions in the summer transfer
window.
Bayern Munich CEO revealed that all clubs need to respect the system of fair play policies and follow the transfer procedures according to UEFA’s rules. The top teams have made a trend of spending huge amount on transfers and salaries
which is a disadvantage to the less resourceful sides.
As a result, Financial Fair Play system was introduced and implement recently when UEFA withheld prize money of 23 teams across Europe. They have further threatened to withhold TV revenue and can even suspend the players from the
last transfer window if they do not comply with the regulations set by the European football’s governing body.
The chief executive believes that English Premier League sides Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have spent over the odds this year with latter splashing over 100 million euros and the former team spending over 50 million euros. The
huge amount of money has caused the English teams to suffer from massive debts.
"When I look at their spending, Manchester City (€54 million this summer) or Chelsea (€100.7 million)... I think that these clubs have huge losses,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 56-year-old added that the transfers should be made keeping their losses within the 15 million euros mark per campaign.
"All have an obligation to respect that the rules of fair play require that financial losses should not go beyond €15 million per season," the club official stated.
"It is for UEFA to ensure that these clubs face sanctions. Paris can't spend €100 million each year for five years, because we can't spend more than we won," the former West http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 attacker concluded.
Moreover, the former frontman said that the European Football Association should be implementing the fair play regulations strictly and put sanctions on the teams that break the rules, to make an example of them. He lastly added
