Top Dogs (05/11/10)
Three Greyhounds to follow for today’s racing
1, Slippery Chum (NAP 15.48 Swindon) – On grounds of value this could be one of the most intriguing bets of the week. The early morning 6.50 being matched on the markets could work out to be a shrewd bit of business from the wily backers if Chum can build on his successful trial round Swindon last week. He is a proven A4 performer and rarely finishes out of the frame in his races - he will need a bit of luck from the traps but at the current prices being matched you are bound to be getting a good run for your money.
2, Magna Tag (22.07 Sheffield) – Has found a new lease of life from the traps of late and as long as he brings his trapping boots, he should have too much early dash for his rivals.
3, Mellison Rose (12.42 Hove) – This was one of those dogs which makes you rub your eyes when you see the price chalked up at around the 6.00 mark. In a pretty open race in which all have the scope to put in a big run, it may be worth siding with Tony Lucas’ hound who usually breaks well and will be up with the early pace.
