Top Gear: Why don't Richard Hammond and James May attempt a power lap time?

It would be interesting to see how the hamster and Captain Slow fare on the Top Gear test track!

Besides, it could expose their driving skills as... flawed

it would be very interesting to see the difference in times. i think jeremy would be the fastest, then richard and of course james would be the slowest!

Because the power lap times are done to see how fast cars are round the track, so they are always done by the Stig. If CS or the Hamster did one, it would not be a true representation of the cars speed.

If, however, you mean a lap in the 'reasonably priced' Lacetti, then that I would like to see.
