Intercontinental title belt is considered one of the most prestigious wrestling belts of all time in the history of professional wrestling in WWE. Many great wrestlers have held the belt during their careers and added to its prestige. Other have put their bodies and careers on the line but never achieved the belt. This is a story of the best Intercontinental champions of all time. It is Randy savage on 1st position, Chris Jericho on 2nd, Ultimate Warrior on 3rd, Mr. Perfect on 4th and Pat Patterson on 5th position in the WWE rankings for best Intercontinental champions of all time.

It is the wrestler with the cocky attitude who is on the 6th position in the list of the best Intercontinental champions ever. It is the stylish Honky Tonk Man, who was both loved and hated by the wrestling fans during his storied career. Honky Tonk Man has the record of the longest reigning Intercontinental championship, as he held the title for 454 consecutive days. However, his career is not without controversies as Honky Tonk Man deliberately got himself disqualified from his matches to stay as the Intercontinental champion.

The bad guy, Razor Ramon is on the 7th position in the rankings for the best Intercontinental wrestlers. Razor Ramon saw the peak of his career in the mid of 1990s, when he fought with many acclaimed wrestlers like Jeff Jarrett and Goldust to defend his title. Then it was the ladders match with Shawn Michaels at Wrestle Mania X for the Intercontinental championship, which was regarded as one of the greatest matches of all time. Razor Ramon inspired many other wrestlers who then tried to compete for the prestigious Intercontinental title.

It is the legendary Bret “The Hit Man” Hart who is regarded the 8th best Intercontinental champion of all time. Bret “The Hit Man” Hart started his reign as Intercontinental champion, when he defeated Mr. Perfect at Summer Slam of 1991. Bret “The Hit Man” Hart’s greatest match was with British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Championship in front of more than 80,000 fans. The match which was characterized with brilliant technical reversals and near falls amazed many wrestling fans. However, Bret “The Hit Man” Hart lost the match to British Bulldog but he cemented his place as one of the greatest Intercontinental of all time.

The 9th position in the list of best Intercontinental champions of all time goes to none other than the great Pedro Morales. Pedro Morales became the first man in the history of professional wrestling to win the Intercontinental Championship, WWE Championship and World Tag Team Championship at the same time. Another great achievement of Pedro Morales was to hold the Intercontinental belt for more than 600 days during his two lengthy and impressive title reigns. There are few in the world of professional wrestling who can claim of phenomenal achievements like the great Puerto Rican wrestler.

Some wrestlers simply come and go, other become legends but there is only one who becomes the legend killer, and that is Randy Orton. Randy Orton, who is the former WWE champion, is ranked on the 10th position in the list of best Intercontinental champions of all time. It was in 2003, when the apex predator of WWE, the dangerous viper, Randy Orton defeated Rob Van Dam to win the Intercontinental gold. This win became the revival of the Intercontinental title as Randy Orton defended the title for 210 consecutive days. His grip on the title was so strong that he defeated many great wrestlers like Mick Foley and Edge to stay the Intercontinental champion.

Many young wrestlers come and go, end their careers in pursuit of the prestigious championship but the above mentioned wrestlers are truly the top Intercontinental wrestlers of all time.
