  1. I've been there 3 times on business and visited the entire country.

The best place to visit in Germany is Castle Neuschwanstein. It means Swan Rock. Its the most beautiful place in Germany and belive me I have seen everything.

Check Point Charlie is a DUMP. Its dirty, graffitti everywhere and hoodlums run around looking for handouts -if they dont rob you. Berlin in general is a DUMP. Not worth your time or money to go there.

Munich is nice and the only thing worth seeing is the BMW museum and factory just finished.

Koln, or Colonge is where all the g**s are. Nothing to see unless of course you are a homo.

The Rhine river is beautiful but don't get stuck on a 2 hour tour. Its boring as h**l! Rent a car and DIY.

The Black Forest is great. Many old homes and its just likje a fairytale.

Luebeck is ok if you like old eating places. Its old and historic but there is a reason it gets no tourists- its boring and you can see as much on the internet.

In all, Germany is EXPENSIVE as h**l especially with the EURO being 1.50. IMO, Germany is not worth the visit. Check out Switzerland instead. Everything is better.

(And I am 100% german, both parents but live/born raised in America. They dislike germany so much they would never go back. Its really a poor country when you go outside the tourist traps.

  2. Regensburg (Ratisbon). The Pope's city. But not because of that. It's an ancient Roman town, and you should see their stone bridge, the cathedral, and the river Danube. If you're not interested in ancient ruins, well, the river will be quite enough to fascinate you. It's not as wide as the Misissippi, but for a European river, it's HUGE.

  3. Black Forest

    Munich

    Zugzpitze

    Stuttgart - Mercedes Benz factory

    Zuffenhausen - Porsche factory

    Heidelberg Castle

Nurnberg for the bratwurst & The "wall"

    wine tasting tours!

    Cruise on the Rhine

    Oktoberfest

  4. Trier - Visit the Porta Nigra, Roman Baths, the Ampitheatre and the Dom. Also the MarktPlatz is a nice place to walk and shop. And you must try the ice cream there. YUM.

Koln (Cologne) The Dom - wonderfully beautiful and intricate cathedral.; Imhoff-Stollwerk SchocolatdenMuseum...it's right on the Rhein and is amazing shows how chocolate is made from the bean to the store...lots of yummy chocolates to buy and a chocolate fountain to sample! Just walk around Koln, look at the bridges and beware during Carnival (which is coming up soon!) because it gets crazy then.

Dachau - outside of Munchen (Munich) and is the site of one of the worst concentration camps...it is definitely worth experiencing but is heartwrenching.  Bergen-Belsen is another concentration camp but in the NW part of Germany - it's where Anne Frank passed.

Schwangau & Neuschwanstein - Beautiful castles in Bavaria built by King Ludwig- interesting history behind them.

Frankfurt - downtown is really interesting, but watch out for their Red Light District - Sacksenhausen (spelling). The zoo there is nice if you're into that kind of thing.

Follow the Fairy Tale Road from Bremer down past Hanau..follow the Brothers Grimm! I really liked doing this and following the Rhein.

Go in the summer and visit the vineyards - Trier has some great ones in the Mosel River Valley!

Idar-Oberstein - diamond and gem mines and a gorgeous church built into the rocks.

I could go on! We lived there for 4 years and traveled all over Germany!

But like someone else said, the exchange rate is horrible so if you're going to go, make it worth your while and take advantage of their great train systems!!! If you have any questions, just msg me! :)

  6. 1)Potsdamer Platz (the ceiling at night changes color)

    2) The TV Tower

3)The Berlin Zoo (if you enjoy seeing animals held in cages against their will)

    5) Reichstag

    6)Brandenburg Gate

    7)Hitler's Olympic Stadium

    8) the mall

    9)Berlin's new train station

    10) That bombed out church that is now a monument

    11)Tiergarten

    12) The wall peices and the brick line that markes where it was

13)any side of the comunest side is interestingly boring

  7. Frankfurt...

it has some new and some old stuff right next to each other...

  8. Adolf's bunker
