hit Smalling but the referee rejected the appeal. Chris Smalling’s form will give Manchester United a boost considering regular defender Rio Ferdinand is out injured.

David Silva: 8
The Spaniard was playing in his favourite position; in a floating role behind Carlos Tavez. David Silva was certainly the most innovative player for the visiting side and got an early chance to score but the shot went agonisingly wide. In the second half
Edin Dzeko’s shot hit the back of Silva and the ball ended up in the net for the equaliser.

Vincent Kompany had a decent match and certainly did not deserve to be on the losing side. The Belgian was neat in his tackles and anticipated the attacks really well. Kompany was efficient while dealing with the aerial threats but slipped at the crucial

The Ivorian was attacking hard in the first half of the game. His hulking figure was a constant threat for the opposition in the midfield. He was the main orchestrator of City’s attacks however, on occasions he was heavy with his touches and looked unsure
on the ball.
