Top Remaining Issues of the Offseason –NHL Special Part 2
Bobby Ryan (Anaheim Ducks)
Bobby Ryan is an elite level player and one of the best right wingers in the National Hockey League (NHL), which made it extremely surprising to see that he wanted out from Anaheim Ducks and a transition.
For some unspecified reason, Ryan is unhappy with Anaheim and has expressed it to his club a number of times while wanting a trade out. Now with all the big names mostly off the free agent radar, Bobby Ryan can finally come up and sell himself to the various
clubs around the league.
The best thing about a player like Bobby Ryan is that the 25-year-old has the ability to score goals and is consistent in doing so. He has 30-plus for the past four seasons and can also put up assists when needed.
One of the biggest hurdles for teams around the NHL acquiring Ryan is without a doubt his huge salary demand which is at $5.1 million. Philadelphia Flyers look like a good fit as they failed to bring any of the big names on board and lost Jaromir Jagr in
the process.
During an interview earlier in June, Bobby Ryan was asked whether he would like to play in Philadelphia as a Flyer and obviously they are a team with much higher expectations than any other, making it difficult, yet interesting.
He is one of the few players that have more goals than assists and currently holds 136 goals and 123 assists in 332 games played.
Toronto Maple Leafs Goaltending
Toronto Maple Leafs are going through some of their hardest years as a franchise in the National Hockey League (NHL) and being the biggest in terms of revenue generated that is definitely a depressing fact.
One of the biggest problems faced by the Maple Leafs at the moment is the lack of solid, long term and disciplined goaltending.
Jonas Gustavsson is not providing any reliable game while James Reimer cannot seem to stay consistent besides the fact that he is a great player but unable to cope with pressure.
It is hard seeing Toronto Maple Leafs have any horrific season and coming out in one piece because if the management does not tear them apart, the fans definitely will and already gave a demo of what they could do during the regular season against general
manager, Brian Burke.
Jonathan Bernier is looking like an option at the moment since he wants out and Toronto Maple Leafs want him in. Roberto Luongo is just not long-term and is too expensive.
