Does anyone know about what the average top speed of a farm combine is

  1. I'm assuming your asking for travel/road speed not field speed. Average top speed 16 to 18 mph. Newer machines at 20 mph. Realistic road speed is about 12 - 15 mph depending on size/weight of header. (they have a tendency to porpoise due to weight of header and road conditions)


  2. Our John Deere can go 30 mph on the road.

  3. depending on the make of course but most are 20 mph for top speed Way back in the 50s they came out with SMV Slow Moving Vehicle under 20 mph signs to be used on any farm implements traveling on the highways. So most all tractors combines put a high gear or road gear that put them at 20 mph so they wouldn't have to comply with the smv rules.
