I don't know exactly but I've watched a program with this subject. Program Top 10 of all kinds of stuffs in the animal world. Find it, its very interesting. And the point of that episode it is that they were stupid animals and they attack people only if they fill the blood. They attacking us because of their instincts of hunger.

For example, in Brasil on the very famous beach they were attacking a peoples because close to the beach there is factory for meat food, and all waste of blood goes to the sea. And that waste dare them to came for some food:-(
