Yet to be made official, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432’s rumoured arrival at Paris Saint-Germain has already forced important politicians of the country to give their views on the Englishman’s salary when he arrives at the capital club in January.
Rumours and what has recently been said, it seems that it is only a matter of time when former Manchester United star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Beckham graces Paris with his presence.
With his contract with Major League Soccer franchise LA Galaxy about to expire, Beckham has been hotly linked with a move to the Ile giants.
With reports suggesting that David Beckham has been offered 800,000 Euros per month with an annual net salary of 4.3 million Euros. Merchandising is already estimated to reach upto 17 million Euros over 18 months of his contract.
However, it seems that many influential figures in French politics are not pleased with the recent salary inflation at Paris Saint-Germain. PSG will have one of the biggest wage bill in European football if Beckham agrees a move to Parc des Princes – something
that politicians are not pleased at.
Eva Joly of Europe 1 gave her view of this by saying that football has become more of a business rather than a game.
Joly eloquently put PSG’s plans for Beckham by saying, “At his age (36), and with the state of his knees, he will sell t-shirts.”
Special adviser to Francois Hollande, Jean-Marc Ayrault said, “I’m tired of these huge salaries. It’s not just in football. The Socialists had filed a bill to establish the maximum salary. We will come back.”
Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, who0 is a candidate for the Repulic at the Elysee also expressed his shock at the recent inflation in player salaries particularly in Paris.
Secretary of state for consumption, Frederic Lefebvre certainly took a good reading of the sporting aspect. “In football, there are huge salaries. At the same time there are very short careers. Wait and see whether or not David Beckham brings something to
the club and after that, you will see whether or not he was interested with the club.”
With the presidential elections on the horizon, politicians have certainly done their part in using David Beckham’s big-money transfer as a boon for their benefits.
However, the arrival of Beckham to the Camp des Loges is upto the finances of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Investment Authority.
