Top contenders for the Most Valuable Player next NBA season – Part 2
Kevin Durant
In the Last season, Oklahoma City Thunders scoring machine Kevin Durant led the team into the Western Conference Finals at the time when everybody was anticipating their early exit. Two-time reigning scoring champion Durant averaged
27.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in the last season.
Even though, the 23-year-old Durant finished fifth in the race to clinch the Most Valuable Player award (MVP), however he is going to be a strong contender to steer away with the honour in the next season.
After making into the Western Conference Finals in the last season, Kevin is determined to spearhead his team into the NBA Finals in the next season and land the first NBA title. This determination will push him to take his game
to the next level and ultimately his overall stats are going to excel as well.
In just four years of NBA career, Kevin Durant has proved the potential to become one of the best players in the league and in the coming years he will earn the recognition without any doubt.
Dwight Howard
For many, it was a big surprise that Orlando Magic’s big man Dwight Howard did not won the NBA Most Valuable Player award in the last season. There was a close competition between Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose and Howard for the
MVP however the NBA coaches and team managers picked Derrick for the honour.
The muscular centre Howard posted the best scoring performance in the last season with an average of 22.9 points per game and gathered 14.1 rebounds. As a result of his outstanding performance, Howard was named as the NBA Defensive
Player of the Year for the third successive time.
At the prime time of his career, Dwight Howard is chasing only one dream, to furnish his resume with a championship title and for that he might make a shift to another team like LeBron James.
Howard’s surge to win it all will encourage him to perform even better in the next season and he can at least move up the ladder to nab the MVP title next time around.
Dwyane Wade
At the time when the two top players of the league LeBron James and Chris Bosh joined Miami Heat, it was expected that the stats of the South Beach’s heartthrob Dwyane Wade will diminish as James and Bosh will earn maximum time
on the court along with Wade.
However, despite of having James and Chris on the roster, the dynamic shooting guard Dwyane Wade registered an average of 25.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.6 assist to lead Miami Heat in the play-offs.
Although, Dwyane Wade was not seriously considered as an MVP contender in the last season however, he has favourable chances to secure the honour in the next season.
The major reason is that Wade is as much hungrier to nab another NBA title as LeBron James and the duo will do anything to accomplish the feat. In the last NBA Finals, despite James struggle, Dwyane Wade continued to provide fireworks
for the team. However his single-handed domination turned out to be insufficient against the veteran power Dallas Mavericks.
On top of that, Wade will ensure that his teammates are performing as well along with him in the next season which will increase his reputation of a team player
