I'm getting the top of my ear's done with a gun, bad idea I know :(

I live in Hartlepool :( and its a small town, more like a village, and the only shop that does piercings is Claire's and a piercing shop - only thing is both use guns :(

i really want it but the only way is with a gun. the next town is fat away and the bus only comes every hour and it is far away ( 36 and the 1A )

how would I know if the skin gets danged, and is they any way of it healing

I told the guy at the shops I know about how you can't use guns and he said he uses a smaller gun than Claire's :( - he wont listen

  1. It's really worth taking the time to travel and get the piercing done with a needle. A gun just forces a blunt stud through your ear, tearing the skin and possibly shattering the cartilage.

These links explain better than I can.

  2. I got my top ear done with a gun, both sides, and it was fine, its not the way its meant to be done but mine was fine,

have u had your lobes peirced, if so, how did they heal, if they were ok and you didnt really have any problems, then i would say it should be ok. If you did have problems i suggest getting the bus to somewhere that does it with a needle etc.

  3. i had mine pierced with a gun ok it was about 10 years ago but it was completly fine.

  4. I would definitely recommend using a needle. It's safer and more sanitary.

But I have two cartilage piercings in both ears and all four were done at Claire's, and I had no issues. Just make sure to keep them clean, and the minute you see a sign of infection, take them out.

    Good Luck ♥

  5. I had the top of my ear done with a gun - twice!! Are you not supposed to?? (Mine is fine)

  6. i would say go take the extra time to get it done with a needle. every person i know that's had it done with a gun has had some problems with it, some serious some not. it can shatter your cartilage and that can be very painful and it can also cos serious infections that can leave a huge bump on each side of the ear. the only way to get the bump to go away is steroid shots, and they are very painful.

so i would definitely recommend getting it done with a needle, there's less risks and it wont be as painful.  i hope i helped :)

  7. I got my top of the ear pierced with a gun about 4/5 years ago. I never had a problem with mine but i dont think you should risk it now. I know the feeling of not having a shop that does it with a needle but i think your best bet is to go to the next town just to be sure. Why not make a day out and do other stuff aswell as getting your ears done? Goodluck!

  8. you should take the bus and get it done somewhere else

for one thing piercings with a needle hurt less

  9. You need to get it pierced with a needle, a gun can shatter your cartilage.

Don't listen to the guy, he just wants your money.

Infection can cause and as a result you can become numb in that side of you're face.

  10. Getting it done with a gun means its less likely to heal. A gun just pushes the cartilidge to the sides so when you take it out it will heal. A needle takes a smaal piece out your ear so it is more likely to heal. The size of the gun won't make a difference. Is up to you though and you seem to already have your mind make up that your going to get it done with a gun.

  11. I know lots of people who have had their cartlidge pierced with a gun and theirs turned out fine(ish).

Personally, I'd suck it up, wait an hour and grab that bus to wherever the piercing place is that uses NEEDLES not guns. Guns are too risky, especially on that part of the ear, it's easy to shatter the cartlidge there plus the pain factor is magnified with a gun! I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

  12. If there's a decent piercer out there then it really is worth the travel; apart from the dangers of guns it'll make the healing so much easier

You obviously don't have a hygienic or even responsible piercer in your town so just put a day aside and make the trip
