World number four, Agnieszka Radwanska, might not be the most athletic personality in the top eight category but she has definitely build up some emphatic stamina that seriously grinds her opponent out with long rallies. She is
a threat to anyone on her day and no one is able to stop her forceful corner placed winners that are absolutely breathtaking to witness.
In the press conference, Radwanska commented, "I'll have a good couple matches, I hope. There's no easy group, so no easy matches. It's the eight best players in the world." She might be humble in stating that some wins are coming
her way but considering her terrific performance over the year, one can easily say that she can always dismantle the confidence of the Top-3 athletes especially if her forehand gets going. It might be too early to say that she will reach the knock-out stages
but considering her ranking and form, she is bound to reach the last four round of play in Istanbul.
Petra Kvitova
Her comments about Istanbul are as follows, "I think you can't choose who can be in your group. All eight players are great players who had a great season, that's why we are here. For me, it's very hard to be here second year in
a row. I'll try my best. I remember last year the great support. I am looking forward again to being on the court."
These are the top eight athletes and no one of them can be called an underdog but taking players into perspective, the last four players from five to eight own less odds of pulling up a major upset. However, the outstanding athlete
from Czech Republic, Petra Kvitova, is the defending champion at Istanbul and will be looking to outclass her opponents despite having such a tough group of players. She might not be enjoying a very good run of form at the moment that will definitely lower
her chances of repeating the heroics of last year. However, one thing is sure that if she manages to explore her terrific form, she is the biggest threat to all players.
