Top eight new comers of the 2010-2011 English Premier League season (Part 1)
English Premier League 2010-2011 season saw several new entrees into the English league catch our eyes. Sometimes it was Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez who proved that he settled faster than anyone else in the Premier League,

These players will only improve with time given that the previous season was their first season in the English Premier League for their respective clubs. Thus let’s take a look at them one by one in this featured series on the

The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 winger who played for them in the UEFA Champions League final of 2007 is no stranger to the English Premier League but when he secured a loan move to the English Premier League in summer transfer window of
2010 with Stoke City, many saw it as yet another attempt to prove himself in one of the world’s fastest leagues. Pennant hasn’t been a fan favourite in the English Premier League by any stretch of the imagination.
With Liverpool, he was maligned for being too ordinary and thus sold by Rafael Benitez’s team in 2009 when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-Zaragoza-c40344 came calling. In La Liga, Pennant failed to make an impact but Stoke City gave him an exit option which he
duly opted to take. Pennant’s loan move to Stoke City was finally turned into a permanent move in December of 2010 when Stoke City agreed to a £1.725 million transfer fee which might rise to 2.8 million pounds in the near future.
Nonetheless, Pennant’s return to the English Premier League saw the winger performing extravagantly and consistently for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tony-c35440 Pulis’ side. Pennant played in the F.A Cup final for Stoke City as well but in the end he was on the

This tally helped Stoke City forge a formidable reputation in the Premier League as they ended the season
in the 13th place spot after losing the F.A Cup final to Manchester City.

Liverpool’s central midfielder was the star of their season even after they bought Luis Suarez from Ajax and Andy Carroll from Newcastle United in the 2011 January transfer window. The Portuguese playmaker provided Liverpool with
drive from centre of the midfield in a season when their http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 was out of action with a groin injury. Gerrard missed most of the season for Liverpool but Meireles filled in for the Englishman to a superb effect.
His late runs into the opposition’s penalty area were a key feature of Liverpool’s offensive moves under Kenny Dalglish. Raul performed under Roy Hodgson’s tenure and improved further under Dalglish. The Portuguese international
will be an integral part of Liverpool’s team next season as he has settled faster than anyone expected in the English Premier League.
When Liverpool bought him for 13 million Euros in early August, eyebrows were raised by many in European football but he has fully justified that price tag. He played a total of 33 matches in the Premier League for the Merseyside
giants and assisted five whilst scoring the same amount of goals.
