Top eight new comers of the 2010-2011 English Premier League season (Part 3)
Following our features coverage of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 since his move to the London club in the January transfer window
of 2011, it is now time to continue this debate about top eight new comers of the 2010-2011 Premier League season...
Yaya Toure
When Manchester City paid over the top to secure Yaya Toure’s services from Barcelona in the summer transfer window of 2010, everyone looked at them with a frown as no one considered Toure to be worth 24 million pounds that City
paid for him to the Catalan giants. Yaya’s start to the season for City was subdued to say the least. He was used to the slow paced game of the Spanish Primera Division but soon he adapted his style of play to work in the English Premier League.
City’s midfield benefited from Toure’s physical presence who really started to shine for the Citizens in their F.A Cup campaign in the second half of the 2010-2011 season. Toure’s best performance came in the F.A Cup semi-final
against Manchester United where he pressurized http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 into giving the ball away leading up to City’s first goal of the encounter.
As the season progressed, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. To top it all off, Toure
revealed that he had snubbed City’s rivals Manchester United to join them instead. In http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747, Toure scored eight and assisted four goals in 35 Premier League matches for Manchester City. His number of games played shows that he was an integral part of City’s
Premier League campaign and it is expected that he will continue in his prominent role in the 2011-2012 Premier League season.

West Bromwich Albion’s main striker in the 2010-2011 Premier League season can be credited with his team’s marvellous campaign in English football’s first division especially after they were favourites to get relegated when they
were promoted to the Premier League from the Championship.
West Bromwich didn’t expect that their Nigerian target-man would prove to be so prolific as they bought him from Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer transfer window of 2010 where Odemwingie was subjected to gross racially derogatory
chants. Odemwingie added an x-factor to West Bromwich’s attack, an element of surprise and unpredictability which benefitted the Baggies. His movement off the ball created space for his team mates in central midfield and also gave the likes of Brunt to find
him inside the opposition’s penalty area.
In total, Odemwingie played 32 times for West Bromwich Albion in the English Premier League and scored 15 goals. Most of his goals from inside the penalty area are a sign of his poaching instincts but Peter also showed that he
is capable of scoring from outside the box; something that can be realized when one takes a look at his wonderfully curled effort against Tottenham Hotspur in the second half of the season.
