Top five players that Arsenal should sign in the summer transfer window – Premier League (Part 1)
As the summer transfer window rumours’ heat up, the heat is also turning up on various managers in the English Premier League to strengthen their squads before other club’s
sneak in with better deals for their prospective targets. One of such managers is Arsene Wenger. After battling for the English Premier League title for most of the 2010-2011 Premier League season, Wenger’s team failed to live up to expectations as they settled
for a fourth place finish in the end.
Now Wenger’s men go into the qualification rounds of the UEFA Champions league in July and he is not only faced with an uphill task of convincing the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360
and Cesc Fabregas to stay at the club but he is also responsible for bringing in new blood to boost his team’s chances of winning the English Premier League in the next season. So let us take a look at some of the players that Arsenal can sign in order to
strengthen their squad for the upcoming UEFA Champions League adventure as well as the English Premier League.

Cheik Tiote

Newcastle United’s midfielder has forged a formidable reputation in over the past 12 months. He arrived at Newcastle United from F.C Twente in the summer transfer window
and from thereon in, he has taken the Premier League by storm. Tiote is one of those players who are made in the Claude Makelele mould. He knows how to tackle and if anyone has doubts about his shooting ability they should probably take a look at his thunderous
long ranged effort against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the last Premier League season.
Tiote mainly plays as a defensive midfielder and his main http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463. While both Wilshere
and Song are good holding players themselves, Tiote’s aggressiveness brings a well needed physical boost to that department of the Arsenal squad. Wilshere being younger than both Tiote and Song won’t be playing week in week out for Arsenal thus Tiote’s inclusion
will also give Arsene Wenger some selection options for some of the bigger matches in the league.

Cheik has already shown that he is more than capable of kicking it with the big boys. His impressive display in Newcastle United’s nil all draw with Manchester United at
Saint James’ Park near the end of the season was a perfect audition for his role at Arsenal. Moreover earlier on in the season, he was an absolute beast against Arsenal when Newcastle clawed back from a four goal deficit to achieve a 4-4 draw against the Gunners.

The only stumbling block in this move can be Arsenal’s conservative expenditure policy. Wenger rarely dishes out large sums on money and he rarely buys players from English
clubs. If Tiote’s move was to go through to Arsenal over the next couple of months, then Wenger will have to spend around about 15 million pounds on the Ivory Coast midfielder. What is absolutely beyond doubt is the fact that Tiote will improve Arsenal’s squad
in a number of ways. He will add that physical steel that is needed in the centre of the park, something that every title contending team needs if they aspire to win the Premier League title.
