After shedding some light on what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380...
Kevin Gameiro
To continue with Arsene’s obsession with French players, one of the perfect candidates to add to the Gunners’ offensive department is Lorient’s striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721. Most of the fans won’t have heard of Gameiro’s name but this
French international striker plays for Lorient in Ligue 1. His goal scoring exploits are quite famous with Ligue 1 viewers and his goal scoring record can only be recognized and appreciated by looking at his statistics for the past three seasons.
Kevin started his professional career with Strasbourg and stayed with the French minnows for three years from 2005 till 2008 before accepting a move to Lorient. At Lorient in Ligue 1, Kevin has not played in the UEFA Champions
League but he has been quite clinical in domestic competitions. Last season, the French striker scored 23 goals and assisted three goals for his employers.
Before that in the 2009-2010 season, Kevin scored 19 and assisted seven goals. In 2008-2009 season, he netted 13 whilst assisting nine goals. His impressive figures have meant that he has been a top scorer for his club in the past
three years which is remarkable to say the least. For Arsenal, Kevin can act as a striking partner for either http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 or Robin Van Persie, given the Dutchman’s fragile nature Gameiro can provide Wenger with options when Van Persie is on the injury
table.
Moreover, his excellent positional sense can solve Arsenal’s goal scoring issues. Chamakh disappointed in his first season in the English Premier League but with Gameiro goals are a certainty. His versatile nature means that he
can play on the wing as well where he can link up with the front-men. Furthermore Gameiro is only 24 years old at the moment. His age is a key factor in his situation as Arsene has always bought young players and turned them into stars rather than spending
big on established superstars like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
At http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, Gameiro will have a wonderful chance of excelling at the highest level. He will get to play regular UEFA Champions League football which is not available at Lorient. In doing so, he can also cement his chances of obtaining
a permanent place in the French national team setup which will be his main priority give that European Championships are just around the corner in 2012.
However there is a twist in Gameiro’s tale with regard to Arsenal. The striker is already a target for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 and for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 in La Liga. Arsenal do have the financial power to fight off both the suitors
but will Wenger go all out to bring in a striker which will provide cover for Van Persie and Marouane Chamakh. What will be certain with Gameiro is the fact that he will add pace and trickery to the Arsenal line up. His consistent number of games for Lorient
means that his fitness levels are exceptional as he rarely gets injured which is always a plus point in a long and gruelling season.
