Top four teams chances

Its a monty that Geelong will play in the Grand Final

My question is....which position do you need to finish in the top 4 to make sure you make it to the grand final?

Which team will play the Cats in the GF?

I think finishing 4th will be your best chance

In the first week of the finals, 4th play 1st

If 4th lose then 4th will play the winner of 5th and 8th

If 4th wins....then chances are it will play the winner between 2nd and 3rd

Win that and you'll get into the GF

  1. Macca..go back to 97 ,98...st kilda and north melbourne  both were unbackable favorites going in to the grand final!! yet,the crows came from no where to win in them 2 years.

Point being, that as long as you finish in the top 8 , i think any1 has a chance to beat any1 on the day.

so to answer you question..id love to say the crows will be there but i think hawthorn will be the other side in the grand final but like i said, make the top 8 and your in with a chance!!

  2. I have to agree with the answer above me, but in terms of the best position in the top four, I agree with you. It's good to get the hard game out of the way with the double chance, and play lower teams in the sudden death finals.

  3. I don't know.

I've lost interest in the finals now - as Collingwood wont be there!

  4. as long as adelaide don't get 4th i don't care as we will prob wont beat geelong i think adelaide should be 5th as then they wont play Geelong

I think it will be Hawks and Geelong in the finals but NO One will no as tthere could be an upset

  5. **Just because Geelong are favourites to play in the Grand Final and even win it, doesn't mean to say that they're automatically going to do it.

Any team that finishes in the top eight will have a chance of playing off in the Grand Final, but it'll be most likely that two of the teams that finish between first and fifth will probably make the Grand Final.

I think the Grand Final will be between two of the following teams - Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Geelong.**

  6. Ah second; win first final and you're set

And let's face it, 5 teams will be making up the numbers and in all seriousness 7 teams will be making up the numbers

  7. swans will HANG ON to fourth

    but cats-hawks GF

  8. Yes, but it is just as easy coming 2nd or 3rd, winning qualifying final then in the prelim winning, only 2 games, and the the big Grand Final

  9. Firstly it doesn;t matter what position you finish as long as its in the 4 look at the Swans in 2005 they finished 4th and one the whole thing

I believe the Bulldogs will sneak into the GF against the Cats and the game will be alot better than last year.

  10. I agree with Crypt.

But lets not forget last years prelim final. Collingwood very nearly beat the Cats. I think if Geelong play Hawthorn in a final, they could lose.

  11. hahaha doesnt matter, geelong will win the grand final anyway, no doubt about it!
