Jason Akeson (Philadelphia Flyers)
Jason Akeson, a Canadian international ice hockey player, who is currently associated with Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League (NHL), is one of his team’s best upcoming talents.
22-year-old player went undrafted and played most of his hockey for Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He played four seasons for them and showed impressive performances consistently which resulted in him getting signed with the Flyers
in March 2011. The Orleans, Ontario native played the season with Adirondack Phantoms in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Brandon Gormley (Phoenix Coyotes)
A 20-year-old professional ice hockey player, Brandon Gormley is a prospect of Phoenix Coyotes as he was picked in the first round of the 2010 NHL Draft, selected 13th overall.
The Murray River, Prince Edward Island native was playing for Moncton Wildcats in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), but he was assigned to play for San Antonio Rampage in the AHL after being drafted.
Gormley, who plays as a blue liner, played last season for Shawinigan Cataractes and next season he would be playing for Portland Pirates in the AHL.
Derrick Pouliot (Pittsburgh Penguins)
A Canadian defenseman and a professional ice hockey player, Derrick Pouliot plays for Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League (WHL) and is currently associated with Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL.
The 18-year-old player was picked in the first round of this year’s NHL Draft, when Penguins selected him 8th overall. He has been playing for Winterhawks for last four seasons now.
Weyburn, Saskatchewan native has also represented Canada in the Under-17 World Junior Championship and scored three assists in five games. In 152 WHL games, he has scored 19 goals, 77 assists and 96 total points in four seasons.
Tomas Hertl (San Jose Sharks)
Tomas Hertl, a forward player from Czech Republic, is a future prospect of San Jose Sharks in the NHL. He is currently playing in his native country’s hockey league for HC Slavia Praha but he is associated with the San Jose Sharks as he was drafted in last
year’s NHL Draft by the team.
18-year-old player was selected in the first round at 17th overall so he can be considered as a future NHL star. He has also represented Czech Republic junior teams in numerous international competitions including world under-18 and under-20 world
championships.
Jaden Schwartz (St. Louis Blues)
20-year-old Canadian professional ice hockey player, Jaden Schwartz is a prospect of St. Louis Blues. He was drafted 14th overall in the first round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the team and could become one of the greats in future according to what
his record in the college hockey suggest.
Silver medallist in 2011 world junior championship and bronze medallist in 2012 with Team Canada, Melfort, Saskatchewan native made his NHL debut in last season but he could play only seven games and scored two goals and one assist for total of three points.
