4. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 against Chelsea – November 7
Fernando Torres has been having an uneven season so far. Niggling injuries throughout the campaign have hampered the Spaniard’s return to form. But in Liverpool’s home game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, the striker was on top of his game. He scored both goals against
the English Champions, earning the Reds three vital points. His first goal came from a superb pass across the field – a pass which Torres controlled and finished impeccably. However, it was his second goal that set Anfield alight.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678 stole the ball in midfield, causing Chelsea players to retreat in a hurry. Meireles passed the ball quickly to Torres on the left flank. Torres still had a lot of work to do. Ivanovic could not try a tackle otherwise the striker might have
cut inside him. That’s exactly what Torres did. The Spaniard brought the ball to his favoured right foot and let loose with a sublime curling shot aimed at the far post. Chelsea goalkeeper Peter Cech could do nothing but watch the ball go into the side of
the net. The loss to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 was the start of a dismal run in the League for the Blues, one which would see them surrender their huge margin at the top of the table.
5. Berbatov against Liverpool – September 19
The in-form Bulgarian striker believes that the home game against Liverpool is one of the highlights of his career so far. Berbatov scored a hat-trick for United in an exhilarating match which saw the Red Devils edge out their bitter rivals Liverpool 3-2.
All three of Berbatov’s goals were special; however, his second goal in particular is a definite contender for goal of the season. The chance came through some brilliant work by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 on the right flank. The Portuguese winger outsmarted his marker and was able
to make a cross into the box.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 were waiting in the middle for just such an opportunity. Rooney misjudged the flight of the ball and completely missed his header. Berbatov managed to get on the end of the cross and showed superb control by using his thigh
to knock the ball into the air. The Bulgarian then turned away from Reina’s goal and unleashed a stunning bicycle kick, connecting sweetly with the ball. Reina stood rooted to the spot as he watched the ball sail into the top left corner. Manchester United’s
win meant that the Red Devils continued their almost perfect record at Old Trafford.
6. Gareth Bale against Stoke – August 21
Gareth Bale scored both goals against Stoke to give Tottenham three vital points as they aim for their first league title in almost 50 years. Bale's first goal came through good positioning and a lot of luck. A goal line clearance ricocheted off the Welshman
and into the back of the net – hardly a worthy contender for the best goal of the season. But the Welshman’s second goal was stunning. Bale’s volley might just be the best volley you’ll see all year.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Lennon-c3062 provided the cross after a slaloming run through the Stoke defence. Bale positioned himself perfectly to take the volley, letting loose an unstoppable shot with his left foot that rocketed into the top left corner of Thomas Sorensen’s goal.
The Stoke keeper had absolutely no chance of saving the shot and could only look on in amazement as the ball sailed into the back of the net. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 has been in top form this season. If the Welshman can keep it up, he might just provide Tottenham with
the edge they need to finally clinch the title this season.
