it got cut because they moved it from firday to sunday and the audience went from 15 million to 3 million

It became a showcase for record company manufactured musaak and single sales were declining as albums by obscure more promising and influential bands increased making it even more irrelevant along with cd:uk, popworld, the internet.cable music shows etc so it was axed. Shame but a blessing because of the Westlife, Sugarbabes etc overload. Arctic Monkeys getting to number 1 via the internet downloads was the ultimate nail for a tired format. Probably wrong on dates. facts and figures but all media had changed and it didn't change with it.
