The 2014 World Cup qualifying matches have come to an end and the German League resumed this past weekend. The league champions will hope to get a positive result over the weekend and improve their league standings to third place
in place of Schalke.
This season has also seen the big clubs at the top of the table with only Bundesliga new boys Eintracht Frankfurt in second-place. The start of the season has been very entertaining with world class players showing off their amazing
talent.
Thomas Muller
Age: 23
Club: Bayern Munich
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international has been one of the best players of the Bavarian outfit, and has been instrumental in their league success and also in other competitions. The midfielder has shown maturity in his game after coming on
to the scene at a very young age.
The young prodigy linked up with the senior team three years ago and made 52 appearances in his first full season with Die Roten. He scored an amazing 19 goals which is pretty good for a midfielder. Since then he has secured a
regular spot at the Allianz Arena and has won numerous trophies with the German side.
Muller won the prestigious FIFA World Cup Golden Boot in 2010 and was also voted the best young player award at the same event. He was a key figure in Germany’s road to the semi-finals of the 2010 World Cup. The attacker has 37
caps for his country and has scored ten goals in the process.
However, his performances in the league this term have caught the eye of everyone in the Bundesliga. He has scored six league goals and has provided five assists until now. He is behind only team-mate Mario Mandzukic and Hannover
star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Szabolcs-Huszti-c34444 in terms of goals and assists respectively.
The former Bayern reserve team player will need to continue his top form if he wants his side to reclaim major trophies after two barren years. He has kept the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Pizarro-c9324 to restricted game time
as coach Jupp Heynckes cannot afford to put him on the bench.

Age: 29
Club: Schalke 04
The Schalke striker was the league’s top scorer last season with 29 goals, and has vowed to improve his goal tally or at least score the same number of goals. The Dutch star has been very prolific since joining the Bundesliga from
AC Milan, where he was unable to make a mark.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues and
has enjoyed a good run this term as well.
Huntelaar has netted three goals already and a further two assists to make sure Schalke stay ahead of Borussia Dortmund in the league table. The forward will be keen to aid his side to mount a title challenge and surprise Bayern
and the BVB this time around.
