Top potters head towards Ireland to take part in PTC Grand Final at Bailey Allen Hall arena, Galway
Commencement of the 2012 Players Tour Championship (PTC) Grand Final is attracting all top snooker players towards the Bailey Allen Hall arena in Galway, Ireland. All the leading cueists feel ready to make their presence felt at the arena and are looking
forward to claim the overall PTC title. The most famous minor-ranking event of the snooker calendar will start from March 14, 2012.
The snooker governing body, World Snooker has announced the fixtures for the first round of PTC Grand Finals. Many old mates will be playing against each other in the first round. The reigning World Snooker Champion, Scotland’s John Higgins is drawn in the
first round against Wales’ Jamie Jones while Martin Gould will be up against Stephen Lee.
The former Premier League Snooker Champion, Matthew Stevens will play on the table against Ricky Walden while the 2012 Snooker Shootout winner, Barry Hawkins will meet the young Jack Lisowski. The Chinese Sensation, Ding Junhui is going to play the emerging
talent and PTC 3 winner, Ben Woollaston in Round 1.
The likes of Judd Trump, Andrew Higginson, Mark Selby, Michael Holt, Neil Robertson, Graeme Dott, Stephen Maguire and Ronnie O’Sullivan have been placed in the second round fixture on the basis of PTC Order of Merit. The competition is expected to produce
some thrilling encounters during its campaign.
“It's a tremendous line up of leading players, with a great mixture of legends of the sport and rising stars,” a World Snooker spokesperson commented on the fixtures, “We know there's a great appetite for snooker in Ireland and we hope that when fans see
who is in the field for this tournament they will snap up the tickets.”
The spokesman added, “There will be a top prize of £70,000 from a total prize fund of £250,000 plus a lot of ranking points at stake in the Grand Finals, so this will be an event the top players really want to win.”
The PTC Grand Finale event will be co-promoted by T.H.E Agency Ireland. All matches of the competition will be televised by channels across the world that includes Now TV, Shanghai TV, Guangzhou TV, Beijing TV, and Eurosport.
