Last ten years have given us numerous talents in the world of football, these talents have left their names for the book and these are the players that have made footballing history.
Lets sum up the players in a football team, first come the glorious strikers that are the centre of attention of all the fans, these are the players that net the record setting and magnificent goals that launch the fans out of their seats and make them crazy
for more.
Then come the wingers they also score goals and assist the ball from the centre of the field to the far end. There have been numerous brilliant partnerships in the last decade that have made their club and countries proud.
It is not only the striker that is responsible for the goal scored but the glory goes to the man who assists him in the goal as it is equally his input that makes the goal possible.
It is a fact that different players have different modes and styles of play on a football field, as some use sheer pace to score while others use their dribbling and technical skills in the game.
Another major part of the goal scoring is the responsibility of the defender and the goal keeper as they are the defence line in front of a goal post. As they need to make sure they don’t fall into the offside traps and they need to form a brick wall in
front of the attackers on the field.
So here is a list of the top ten strikers in the last ten years:
Alan Shearer:
Alan was an English player that used to play for the England national side and also played for clubs such as Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Southampton.
Shearer is still recognised by many as one of the best players to have ever played in the English Premier League. The player holds the record of highest goal scorer ever since the foundation of the Premiership.
The Englishman was often called the ‘Complete Striker’ as he played all the roles of a striker magnificently and was a key element of the England side of his time.
He started his career playing for Southampton only to make a move to the Blackburn Rovers in 1992, where he was a big success. Alan then made a move to Newcastle United and made himself out to be a Newcastle legend. He wore the number nine shirt and took
the team to new heights.
Shearer also had a short run at trying to manage New Castle United in 2009 and managed the team for eight games though as hard as he tried, he could not save them from relegation.
Andriy Shevchenko:
Andriy is from Ukraine who currently plays for Dynamo Kiev. He has also been through some big clubs like Chelsea and AC Milan.
He is one of the most creative players, known to be a terrific goal scorer as well as a play-maker. This player has been a success wonder since the start of his professional career in football.
The Ukrainian was bought by AC Milan for a lot of money and he went on to be a huge success for the club, helping them win numerous Champions League titles.
Shevchenko won the Ballon D’Or award in 2004 and got signed to Chelsea in 2006 but he wasn't much of a success for the Blues.
