Top seed Vancouver Canucks win 4-3 against the Chicago Blackhawks to take a 2-0 lead in the series

The top seed and the President’s Trophy winners, Vancouver Canucks hosted the defending champions, Chicago Blackhawks this Friday in game two which they won 4-3 in the end. This is one series that the Canucks will be looking to win 4-0 with the Hawks knocking
them out for the last two consecutive seasons.
The first period was the slower side as the two teams did not attack much. However, with the passage of time, there were a few shots on goal and in the end the Canucks were successful in taking the lead. Both teams made a few more shots on goal but were
unable to score any further goals. The second period began with the two teams making shots on goal from the start resulting in the Canucks scoring twice, while the Hawks also scored once. Despite the Hawks scoring twice in the second period, it was the Canucks
who scored the differentiating goal in the final period to win the game 4-3 in the end. Daniel Sedin of the Canucks was named the star of the game as he scored twice and ended the night with an assist.
The teams were reluctant to go on the attacks at the start and preferred staying back and enjoying the possession. With the passage of time, the shots started to come and both teams displaying some excellent ice hockey.
The top seed, Canucks were successful in breaking the deadlock with a goal in the eighth minute. The goal was scored by Jannik Hansen from a powerful long range shot. The Hawks were not far behind as they too made a couple of shots on goal.
Unfortunately, for them they were not successful in finding the back of the net with the same consistency. The period ended with the Canucks leading 1-0 as they made six shots on goal while the Hawks made seven.
The Canucks came out strong in the second period and scored a power play goal in the very first minute through Daniel Sedin from brilliant shot. The Hawks showed that they had a very strong offence with some strong plays and scored in the 15th
minute through Ben Smith to restore the advantage.
The Canucks scored once again in the final minute of the period through Alexander Edler, from a powerful strike end the period leading 3-1. The Canucks made 10 shots on goal during the period, whereas the Hawks made eight shots on goal.
The final period of the game saw both teams on the charge right from the start. The Hawks struck early in the second minute through Viktor Stalberg. The Canucks scored through Sedin once again from a well placed flick shot.
Despite the Hawks scoring in the 13th minute through Smith, it proved to be insufficient as the Canucks won 4-3 in the end.
