and for just loudness i would say kickers

i have 2 12" soundstorm stealths with a 1200 watt soundstorm 2 channel amp,they hit HARD,theyre not the best brand,i would go with 2 15" kickers,with a 1500watt amp(2 channel

JL Audio is excellent for sound quality, Fi is insane when it comes to SPL. Kicker if you are looking for a excellent price. That said JL Audio, Fi, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, MTX are all some of the most trusted brand subs when it comes to mobile audio. I have owned all of the brands listed above and was totally satisfied.

Sub-woofers to avoid, Audiobahn, Visonic, Fusion, Dual, and other similar brands. If it sounds too good to be true chances are it is. These brands may look o.k. but they are low quality junk, they will disappoint you.

There are plenty of quality brands that build or have someone build very good product.  Finding the one that fits your space/budget/power/sound goals is more important than actual brands.
