Top ten American League players with the most home-runs in 2011 MLB regular season – Part 2
Fans have always been in search of home-run scorers and if they find their favourite player in the column, they feel good and give praise. In the 2011 MLB regular season, many players have disappointed the spectators while many left in astonishment with
their extraordinary concert.
Jose Bautista led all players in the American League with his 43 home-runs, followed by Yankees’ Curtis Granderson and Mark Teixeira at the second and third position respectively.
Adrian Beltre of the Texas Rangers exhibited his brilliance to snatch fifth place in the list of American League’s most home-run hitters in the 2011 regular season. The 32-year-old right-hand batter wrote his name in the winning list, in every crucial outing.
Playing as third baseman, Beltre helped the Rangers jump into the post-season and then made his mark to help them into the AL Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers. Beltre launched 32 home-runs, using his 487 at-bats of just 124 games in this season.
He gained even a better place in the slugging average column and held the third position with .561 numbers. His 105 RBIs are also the sixth most in AL this season. Despite some injury issues during the season, Beltre maintained a .296 batting average.
Following Beltre is his fellow team-mate, Ian Kinsler who has the same 32 home-runs, but his high at-bats forced him to sixth place. Right-hand second baseman took 620 at-bats of his 155 games to make his submission in the list of most home-run scorers in
the AL. Although he could capture the top spot, but he made 121 runs to snatch the second position in the AL. He also holds the fifth position with 89 walks and seventh with 30 stolen bases. His brilliant batting worked wonders for the Rangers to take them
far in the 2011 regular season. Although Kinsler could not make his entry in the top ten list in many categories but his contribution for the club was vital. His manager articulated total confidence over him.
The same number of homers but the highest number of at-bats put the Boston Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury in the seventh position in most home-runs list. The left-hand batter made 32 home-runs but used 660 at-bats, second most in American League. It suggests the
confidence of his manager that he showed over him throughout the season. He acted as per the expectations and scored 119 runs on 212 hits to secure third position in AL in runs. He made his entry in the top ten in seven categories, including fifth with a .321
batting average, fifth with 32 home-runs, fifth with .928 OPS, third with 119 runs, fourth with 39 stolen bases, sixth in both RBIs (105) and slugging average (.552).
Besides these players there are a few more that have made some valuable contribution for their club. However, the best part of every batter’s performance is considered to be his home-runs that add to the confidence to the other batters. This list does not
include Alex Rodriguez, who has not had a great regular season for the Yankees.
