Top ten game of Chicago Bulls in the NBA regular season – Part 1
The Chicago bulls came out firing on all cylinders early in the season as they looked to establish themselves as a significant power in the Eastern Conference. However, by the end of the regular season 2010-11, they found themselves
in territory that could hardly have been imagined at in the beginning of the season: ending the season with top position in the league.
They did not drop back-to-back games since an early February road trip when they lost to the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers and finished with a 62-20 record in the regular season.
 “We don’t like to lose,” Bulls’ small forward Luol Deng said.
The dazzling Derrick Rose, who was the NBA Most Valuable Player for 2011, remained backbone of the team with an average of 25.0 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. Rose played 81 games during the season, scored 2,026
points, dished out 623 assists and grabbed 330 rebounds.
Here is a brief review of the top ten games of Chicago during the regular season:
December 21, 2011 vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Chicago Bulls’ best victory of the season came against the Philadelphia 76ers on December 21, 2011 at United Center. Rose recorded a double-double with a game high 22 points and 12 assists as Chicago cruised past the Sixers 121-76.
Deng also added 22 points on 10 for 14 shooting from the field. Carlos Boozer ended the game with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Andre Iguodala led Philadelphia with 17 points and four rebounds while Thaddeus Young came off the bench with 12 points and seven rebounds.
The Bulls went 65 percent (49 for 76) from the floor and limited the visiting team to only 35 percent (28 for 80).
Chicago got off to a brilliant start and held an 18-point lead, 61-43, at halftime. The Bulls outscored the 76ers 31-11 in the third quarter and stretched their lead to 92-54. Chicago maintained their double-digit lead in the fourth
quarter and earned season's most outstanding victory.
March 21, 2011 vs. Sacramento Kings
On March 21, Rose and Kyle Korver scored 18 points each as Chicago defeated the Sacramento Kings 132-92. The victory helped the Bulls remain tied with Boston Celtics for the top position in the East. In addition to that, it was
Chicago’s 13 consecutive win at the United Center - their longest home winning streak since 1997-98.
Rose also dished out eight assists in the victory. Deng finished with 17 points while Boozer had 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Marcus Thornton led Sacramento with a game high 25 points on 9 for 14 shooting from the field. Beno Udrih added 13 points, five assists and five rebounds while Francisco Garcia posted 12 points in the loss.
Chicago shot 61.3 percent from the field, including 70.6 percent from three-point range and 71.0 percent from free throw line. The Kings, on the other hand, shot only 43.2 percent from the floor, including 41.7 percent beyond the
arc and 85.2 percent from the line. The Bulls committed 10 turnovers as compared to 22 by the visiting team.
The Bulls limited Sacramento to 47 points in the first half and held a 17-point lead, 47-64, at halftime. Chicago stretched their lead to as many as 25 in the third quarter and carried a 98-72 lead into the fourth. Sacramento did
not get any closer than 20 points in the last quarter.
