Top ten games of New York Knicks Amar’e Stoudemire during 2010-11 season – NBA Special (Part 2)
New York Knicks 116 - Toronto Raptors 99
Amar’e Stoudemire marshalled the New York Knicks with his career-high 16 rebounds, as the Knicks defeated the Toronto Raptors 116-99 on 5 December, 2010 at Air Canada Centre, Toronto. With this win the Knicks secured their seventh
straight win on the road. Stoudemire was exceptional, he went 7 for 7 from the paint in the final quarter and together with Shawne Williams tallied 29 points for the Knicks during the same period.
Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni on Amar’e Stoudemire -

He's got broad shoulders and we jump on them a lot of times. He plays at ease. It's very comforting to know that you can just throw it over to him and he's going to get a wide-open jump shot or he's dunking or he's going to get
a foul on him. He's not forcing things; he's just been playing terrific."
In this game, Stoudemire scored 31 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, one steal and blocked one shot too.
New York Knicks 121 - Minnesota Timberwolves 114
Stoudemire spearheaded the New York Knicks, just as he promised on his arrival that the Knicks are back. He posted his fifth straight 30 points and the Knicks sealed their fifth victory in a row, 121-114 over the Minnesota Timberwolves
on 6 December, 2010 at Madison Square Garden, New York. Stoudemire chipped in with 34 points along with five boards, one assist, two steals and two blocks.
"I don't know if you can play any better than he has the last couple of weeks," said Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni, who also coached Stoudemire in Phoenix and said the All-Star is capable of extending his roll "close to 82 games."
"His power, strength, now his outside shooting, his choices that he's making, just seems like it's easy," D'Antoni added.
Amar’e is the first Knick to score 30 points in five successive games after Stephon Marbury from February, 2005.
New York Knicks 101 - Washington Wizards 95
Stoudemire scored an odd first triple-double of the league that involves turnovers since February, 2008. Amar’e led the Knicks attack, as they overcame the Washington Wizards in the second half to win 101-95 on 10 December, 2010
at Verizon Centre, Washington D.C. Stoudemire scored 36 points together with 10 boards and 11 turnovers. This was his seventh-straight game in which he made 30 points and matched Willie Naulls record, who achieved it back in 1962. With this win the Knicks
had also gained most wins in a span of almost a decade. The fans were so thrilled that they showered Stoudemire with the chants of Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Boston Celtics 118 - New York Knicks 116

Though the Knicks lost the game against the Boston Celtics by a petite margin, but Stoudemire still gave his best. His three-pointer came just after the buzzer that gave Celtics a breathtaking 118-116 win on 15 December, 2010 at
Madison Square Garden, New York. Amar’e matched a season-high 39 points and also extended his team’s record to nine straight 30 point games. In the game Stoudemire came up with 39 points, he also clutched 10 boards, blocked three shots.
Phoenix Suns 129 - New York Knicks 121
The Phoenix suns squeaked past the New York Knicks in a 129-121 victory on 17 January, 2011 at Madison Square Garden, New York, as they led the Knicks in the second-half of the game. Stoudemire had 41 points together with six rebounds,
one assist and one block.
New York Knicks 115 - Washington Wizards 106
Stoudemire thrashed his mini slump and guided the Knicks attack, as they defeated the Washington Wizards in 115-106 win on 24 January, 2010 at Madison Square Garden, New York. This
victory led the Knicks halt their six-game losing streak and they bounced back on track. Stoudemire shook the audience with his smashing dunks. He added 30 points, grabbed nine rebounds, provided five assists, stole one and blocked
two.
New York Knicks 117 - Philadelphia 76cers 103
Stoudemire shot 17 of 21 to lead the Knicks, as they recovered against the Philadelphia 76cers in a 117-103 victory on 6 February, 2011 at Madison Square Garden, New York. The All-Star tied his season-high 41 points, besides that
he contributed seven boards, four assists, one steal and four block shots. The Knicks shot more than 50 percent in the first quarter with Amar’e scoring 10 points in their 31-24 push.
Amar’e Stoudemire future holds in tandem with Carmelo Anthony

Stoudemire had a great period until mid of February, as the Knicks didn’t wait for the summer free agency period and on 22 February, 2011 they hired Carmelo Anthony to enhance their roster, but their voyage went other way with
the inclusion of Anthony. As Stoudemire deferred to him, New York started struggling. The major reason behind that was Anthony’s addition made the Knicks offense quite predictable. The duo shot with an average of almost 40 percent in each game, letting the
defences to go away from the other starters and leap on Stoudemire and Anthony.
Anthony might be the most dangerous player on New York roster, but the Knicks go 13-9 when Stoudemire made 30 or more points and when his shots are not hitting he picks up his defence, so Amar’e should be the leader of the Knicks.
The team management believes that they will jell in quickly and gain momentum in the playoffs.
