Several of those guys you have on your list, I do not regard as real champions.  Including guys like Jimmy Ellis, Ernie Terrell, Tim Witherspoon, etc as the list goes on for supposed champs.  My list is of folks who actually deserved the title of champion.

Leon Spinks beat Muhammad Ali for crying out loud. what the h**l else do you want him to do? Tate was decent, Douglas knocked out Tyson, you want to knock out tyson?

Number 10. he managed to beat mike tyson,but could not even defend his title long enough to be considered a respectable heavy weight champ, he was a huge disappointed for many people.

If you are asking if we agree with this list of 10 bad champions, yes they are all poor examples.  I dont know if we could even call some of them champions.   The first thing I thought of when I read your question is the fact that I exclude that line of pretenders who passed around the WBA title while Larry Holmes was WBC champion.  

It's a shame because only Don King and his politics and desire to hold onto the heavyweight division prevent Larry from unifying the title.  He already beat most of the clowns who passed that cheap belt around.  

To their credit, at least Spinks and Douglas beat  "THE MAN" at the time they won their respective titles.  The rest of them won cheap versions of some avaliable belt.  Again, only politics prevented a unification bout between Holmes and Tate, which Holmes would have won by 11th round KO.  

Like I said,  I dont even consider many of those guys champions at all.  If you're talking about guys who actually won THE title,  you could also include some past champions on the lift.

These three didnt do anything with the title except wait for someone better to come along and take it.  There were a few others but I can't put them as low as the group above or your original group.

Of the ones on your list, I would have to go with Leon Spinks.  I mean, he only had like 7 fights when he won the title, and the rest of his career as a journeyman proves that he was a terrible champion.  The only reason he won was because Ali was past his prime and he didn't take Spinks seriously.  I picked him because in his case he won the true heavyweight championship of the world while a lot of the others on your list only won paper titles.

Ruslan Chagaev is not that  bad, Maskaev I agree with.

Leon Spinks would have to be the absolute worst of all time. Guy beat Ali when he was 36 in his 8th fight.

Aside from that?? His career record is 26-17-3 that's ultra low.

John Tate was never that bad man, he only lost 3 fights.

Oh and why would you count Ibragimov as a champ? He only won the WBO belt.

Bruce Seldon is Top 10 in my books.

Leon Spinks is the all time worst.  Hard to believe he was undisputed champ for a short time.

Trevor Berbick has pretty bad alot of the guys Tyson took belts from with the exception of spinks and Holmes were bums. That whole Mike Tyson era was filled with bum champions its funny me and a friend were talking about this at work.
