Top three contenders at the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open
UNIQA Ladies Golf Open has become a popular event on the LET calendar. The event is attended by the top women golfers from around the world. This year the event is scheduled from September 7 to 9.
Three name stand out from the 108 names on the entry list. These three players have made headlines in the recent events and many experts believe that their presence will liven up the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open.
The first name is Lee-Anne Pace. The South African player has had an eventful 2012. She has played in a number of events and her performance has varied from top-ten finishes to missing the cut.
She started the year on a mediocre note with a 37th place in the Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters. This performance was repeated in the next event, the ISPS HANDA Australian Open.
The next event was the prestigious World Ladies Championship. Pace stood 11th in the tournament.
Her first top-10 finish of the year was in Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland, where she stood 10th. The next important tournament was the Deloitte Ladies Open, which she finished in the 3rd place.
So far, her performance had been unremarkable.
Pace’s next significant performance was in the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open. Here she played a great game and finished the event in the 10th place. She next played in the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters and managed an 11th place.
The next name is from Germany. Caroline Masson is an upcoming player who is making a steady progress through the rankings. She has played great this year and with a few exceptions, has done well in the tournaments she has played in.
She shared the 11th place with Lee-Anne Pace in the World Ladies Championship. This is a remarkable coincidence, one which Masson is really proud of.
Her next big performance was in the Deloitte Ladies Open. She stood 6th in the event and many experts started to notice her from then onwards.
Masson stood second in Allianz Ladies Slovak Open and lost the first place with a narrow margin.
She bagged the South African Women's Open title, where she won despite the presence of top international players. This is a win that put Masson on the list of top international players.
Last but not least, is the Scottish player Carly Booth. She has established her reputation as a fierce competitor and will be great fun to watch in the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open.
Booth has had a fantastic year so far and if she maintains her form, she has a very good chance of a top three finish at the tournament.
So far, Booth has won two tournaments. Her first win was in Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland. The next came in Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open.
Booth has played in other tournaments that took place in 2012. She finished in the 7th place in Allianz Ladies Slovak Open. In the recent Irish Ladies Open, she managed a 7th place as well.
These three players have played some great golf this year. They have managed wins and top-10 finishes in most of the tournaments they have played. It remains to be seen whether they will continue their performance in the upcoming UNIQA Ladies Golf Open.
