As many as 13 Spanish top flight domestic clubs are deliberating on their next course of action after being irked by LFP’s strange financial wheeling and dealings.
Dark clouds hover over the start of 2012/13 La Liga campaign, with 13 Spanish top tier clubs threatening the boycott of their preliminary games. The clubs are continuing to deliberate on the matter after being forced in to a corner by the bullish behaviour of the league administrators and their favours given to Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
In principle there are 11 teams who have been invited to the event. On the one hand, there are the nine clubs who have already committed to Soge cable: Celta VIgo, Atletico Madrid, Osasuna, Getafe, Real Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao, Espanyol, Real Zaragoza and Real Betis.
Sevilla and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863, are the two other clubs who have been invited and are still committed Mediapro. However, they are close to the thesis of a change in management of media rights.
The main point of the day is what decision to take: are they going to go on strike in response to the timetables set by the LFP for the first three rounds of the 2012-13 season.
The point that has been put forward and has been the most attractive solution for all parties involved is letting the local team decide if such a schedule is alright by them or not. It will then be mediated again by the league administrators and the televising agents, with the approval of two protagonists being needed for the action to be ratified.
The initial intention is not to stop the league process as it would directly compress the calendar, and return to cause problems for them in the future. However, there is a group of clubs led by Espanyol and Atletico Madrid, who are ready to go on strike.
Despite the good intentions of the rebel group, the consequences of initiating any strike can be ver serious in terms of disciplinary action by LFP, but the breakaway group believes they have not been given any other option.
The big problem is the current contract situation in which media rights are sold. With Barcelona and Real Madrid taking approximately half of the total sums, the 13 have risen to raise their voice against the injustice and uncompetitive environments handed to them.
