Top twelve players who should seek a move away from their clubs – English Premier League (Part 3)
After shedding some light on why http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Odemwingie-c29794 should seek a move away from Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion respectively in the second part of this series, let’s take a look at which other players
should follow suit from their clubs in the 2010-2011 Premier League season...
Tim Cahill
The Australian’s name on this list might catch some people by surprise but it is time for a new challenge for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Cahill-c35085, who is clearly capable of cutting it out in the Europa League if not in the English Premier League. With
Harry Redknapp hounding the summer transfer window like a wild wolf for a striker, maybe his answer lies in Cahill’s departure from Everton. At 31 years of age, Cahill might be a short term fix for Tottenham’s problems but considering the fact that Tottenham
don’t really have much transfer money at their disposal and an even lesser amount of wage budget, Cahill will fit their http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bill-c7610 perfectly.
The London club will offer Cahill a much more extravagant setting than the dull Merseyside. After seven season of mediocrity at Everton, it is time for the Australian to seek a new challenge. A successful stint with a club like
Tottenham might see Cahill in the UEFA Champions League in the near future. His style of play which is robust to say the least also suits Harry Redknapp’s team. Additionally, any move away from Goodison Park at 31 years of age will surely be the last move
of Cahill’s career. If he wants to go out on a high then he has to bid farewell to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shay-Given-c33284
After Manchester City lured him away from Newcastle United by paying 7 million pounds, Given was seen as the next best goalkeeping phenomenon in a league which is incredibly short on talent in between the sticks. However fortune
did not shine its bright light on Given, just when he had cemented himself in the team, Joe Hart’s marvellous displays for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 national team earned him a first team spot at City.
With the young Englishman cemented firmly as City’s first choice goalkeeper, it is now time for Given to move ahead. At 35 years of age, the Irishman has his best years ahead of him. Mid-thirties are usually seen as a peak period
for goalkeepers but Given is wasting this time by warming up the Manchester City bench. At the end of the 2010-2011 Premier League season, the former Newcastle United shot stopper confirmed that he wants to leave the blue half of Manchester.
Celtic are his most probable destination at the moment but Given can do so much better than the Scottish giants. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 moving away from Aston Villa to Tottenham Hotspur, maybe Villa will better suit the talented goalie
who was once a fan favourite at the Saint James’ Park stadium in Tyneside. Maybe Roy Hodgson will be interested in his services as well given that West Bromwich aren’t that blessed with goalkeeping talent with the likes of Scott Carson and Boaz Myhill fighting
for a first team place.
