Question:

Top up tv digi box - can hear the programmes but cant see the picture..have checked all leads etc...any advice

the mole, yeah have checked and double checked that lol i have plugged in an old digi box and that one works fine, unfortunataly it is doesnt have a card for top up just free view. i just owndered if it was something to do with top up themselves, or if the box was knackered, but as i can hear the programmes i am a bit baffled!

  1. Re-scan the box, that usually fixes any problems with the picture/sound etc.


  2. In my experience it is generally the Scart connections that cause the problem. As your Scart connection seems to be working check that none of the socket holes on thetop up box are gunged up or have less than shiny surfaces. If they have try cleaning them with a nylon ferrule cleaning pen/brush.

  3. Is the TV scart correctly connected to the TV scart socket of the digibox and not accidentally the DVD throughport scart?

    Have you selected the Scart socket of the TV on the TV to be in use?  Ie AV1 instead of analogue BBC1, 2 etc?
