Topic for a Project Report. It must be based in computer technology.?

Question

We have to present a project report and we need a topic for it.

I have no idea what to do the report on. It must have to do with computer technology and must be recent. Not a topic which is very old and has already been discussed many times.

Many options there.  How about something about how the technology is surpassing the mainstream user's ability to handle it?  We get all these brand new gadgets out, but alot of people seem to be afraid to use it, and some features go unused.  Or some people won't even buy the basic item (cell phone, PC, etc) because the thought of the technology scares them.  And/or, how the technology is being used against us by the malware creators, taking advantage of the general populace ignorance.

try talking about the rise of GUI (Graphical User Interface) Operating systems and there effect on the consumer market for low-cost computers

talk about the effect of laptops and other very small computing technology that effects mobile computing
