Topic for school newspaper?

Question

I need to write two non-time dependant articles before my school starts in Sept for the school newspaper. Time dependant meaning a recent event. The articles are for an article bank from which the editors can take articles throughout the year, hence the non-time dependence.

Just like, an interesting topic on stuff happening in the world that would be cool for a high school newspaper
