Topics for an AP history paper?

Question

We had to do 10 people, 10 places, and 10 inventions/ discoveries (things like that) that were between the years 1492- 1607. I just need 3 more places and 1 more invention/ thingy. I've already got things like the microscope, knitting machine, watch, and have places like China, London, Spanish America, the Ottoman Empire, et c. Any help would be greatly appreiciated, b/c this bad boy is due tommorrow.

Inventions:

In 1593 Galileo invented the thermometer

Martin Behaim (1459-1537) was a German mapmaker, navigator, and merchant who made the earliest globe, called the "Nürnberg Terrestrial Globe". It was made during the years 1490-1492;

Zacharias Janssen was a Dutch lens-maker who invented the first compound microscope in 1595

The "lead" pencil (which contains no lead) was invented in 1564 when a huge graphite (black carbon) mine was discovered in England
