  1. Start a mobile site that is of interest to the target market 13-35 and offers information and products.....mobile is about to take off.

  2. Are you looking to make money with your site?  If so, I would strongly suggest you perform some research first.  Jumping into something is fun, but you could end up spending a ton of time on something that could have made a lot more money, if you had spent some time taking a look at the market and determining where the opportunities are.

A great tool (that's free by the way) that can help you take a look at any market before you jump in is Matt's Free Keyword Tool.

  3. I don't think that's the right way to go about it.

When deciding a website, you need to consider:

    - your interests

    - your business model

    - your ability to create the content

If I say people love to read entertainment news, can you provide original content ala TMZ.com or PerezHilton, or will you just copy what everyone else writes?

If I say the hot topic now is the possible recession and mortgage mess, how well can you write economic and political pieces?

Then think of how you plan to earn from the site. If you are planning to earn from advertisement, then what sites can you earn more from it? If you are thinking of doing banner ads by impression, then you need a site that will generate gargantuan traffic to earn huge. If by contextual ads program such as Google Adsense, then you need to find a topic where visitors are likely to treat your site as a resource and click on the ads they see
